Bauder College Pleasant Surprise

U.S.A. Georgia

So I had a VERY NEGATIVE initial contact with this college. Through just ONE conversation it's apparent that this school is a for-profit. After calling the school I was transferred to their Atlanta campus...The guy answered the phone "are you coming to a information session" which COMPLETELY through me off....no hello, thank you for calling Atlanta...blah blah etc.. it was INFO session info session. He continued to cut me off, avoid all questions. and even got SNAPPY with me. Their customer service is absolutely a turn off and I don't believe this school will be a top choice for me. smh some people do not need to be in customer service... I could NOT believe this guy. Take a PTO day if you don't want to work.

I am wondering the same thing I need applicable time to plan accordingly, ughhh>

I applied just hoping I get in. . and just making sure I will be able to use the investment afterwards you know? I wonder when they will tell us

Reply to bellamia1015-- Yea I transferred in 20 something hours. Can you email me at [email protected] when you get time?

So they should be mailing out letters next week??? Arghh can't wait lol!

Hi I think you are in the same term as my neighbor. She started clinical with fundamentals yesterday in Marietta but she said they kicked them out the site because something was wrong with the contract. Did you run into the same problem? Are you nervous about how the program is being ran?

Yeah one of the places went under new ownership in December, and the clinical contract was with the old owner, so those students have clinicals at school in the simulation lab, which some nursing programs use for their clinicals anyway. I go to my clinical every week, though. My class was split up into three different sites. We had a lot of fun last week since it was our first time. And our site instructor is a really good teacher. If I was one of the people whose site got canceled I might have a different attitude, but I haven't run into those problems in my course of study so I'm having a good time.

Ok that is great. I noticed on the Georgia Board of Nursing that Bauder is not the only school not accredited yet, because Chattahoochee nursing program isn't yet either. So I just hope a lot of places take that into consideration. Are you attending Bauder now? Or have you applied?

The way I understand it (which could be wrong haha) is that schools have a probationary period where they will be inspected, reviewed, staff, administration, students interviewed, etc. If all checks out, including students passing the NCLEX, then they should gain accreditation. Which so far there's a 100% pass rate for the first graduating class!

For the people that a good bit of college credits under their belt or have a degree already, were you required to take the "College Success" course?

I didn't have to because I took a similar course my first year of undergrad. I know one other person with a 4-year degree that did have to take that because she didn't have a class like that. I believe it's only a one-hour class once a week, though. Transferring in classes will definitely help. There have been times when I had one physical class and one online class, when classmates had 4! I couldn't imagine!

When will they know the pass rate for the November class. I would like to know before I invest money..i want to start in February but i won't if they don't release the scores so we can know if full approval is coming

Everyone hasn't taken it yet, but for the ones who have it's 100%! Yay! Fingers crossed that all the November grads pass!

How many people were in the class vs how many have taken it

I think we will all be hearing something soon. I was hoping to hear back sooner than a few weeks before classes would start. Especially because they don't post their class times like other colleges do. So let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope that everything goes well.
