The two nannies I know didn't have formal experience either. The families just needed someone trustworthy at a lower cost than some "professional" nanny :) the others are pharmacy techs. I think that's probably helpful to them when taking pharmacology lol. At this point I'm into anything, in any field, if my classes start to interfere with my current job. If I ever see anything interesting, ill let you know!

Is it possible for you to find work in evening or night shifts? I don't have the option of quitting work. I wish I did but I'm my only supporter. I have two jobs. Fortunately my full time job is 12-8, 4 days per week, and in the morning every other Saturday. So I have my mornings off for class. My part time job is strictly prn so it's easy to schedule around classes. I study on the weekends and always keep a handout of PowerPoint slides with me at my desk. I would definitely look in to alternative shifts, even if they aren't your field. Someone in my class nannies, and a few work in pharmacies on the weekends.

Everyone rest assured. Just show up for orientation and everything you need to know, need to have done, paperwork, financial aid, questions, class schedules, everything...will be done at orientation. Plan to stay for some hours, though. It's a full day. Bring a pen, too. :) and don't bring extra people. Won't be room for them. Don't forget to look for your BCANS officers, as well!

That is a great idea. Any bit helps. Any creative ideas you have because you can't pass up the chance of going back to school!

Well each persons situation will be different. I had to pay out of pocket for 8 months. The amount changed for me halfway thru and got lower thank goodness. it varies based on how many credits you're taking. It's tough considering some people have to adjust their work schedules according to school so income is tight. So start saving those pennies now! :)

They have three different units: short term rehab, the actual long term residents, and an Alzheimer's unit. The patients are so cute. It really has been fun.

I feel you on that. Time was definitely one of my top factors!

I believe when she said they don't care about your gpa that they don't want to hear all the excuses about why you're failing, and that sort of thing. Even the director of the program will tell you don't worry about getting all As, make sure you learn it well and get a grade you can live with. They make you earn every grade. Lots and lots of work on your own. You have to put in the time. Which is what all good students (should) do anyway lol :)
