This is a forum for students planning to apply to BRCC in Spring 18' for acceptance into the Fall 18' or Spring 19' semester. I'm just looking to get to know fellow prospects and/or future classmates. Anyone that wants to discuss comments/concerns about BRCC's Nursing Program.
Hi! I can help you out with that. I went to one of the advising sessions, and there were a lot of LPN's there. You have to take the HESI in which you have to make a 75 on EACH component in order to be considered. The challenge exams are in Nursing Fundamentals and Adult Nursing I with a score of 850 or above. You must pass both. Applications for the bridge program are Nov. 13 - Dec. 8. They only accept 10 LPN's, but they never reached the max due to non-passing of the challenge exams. If you get accepted then you would start in the Summer or Fall if not enough enrollment in the Summer. Good Luck!
Hi! First off, congrats on getting into the program. How is it? What were your stats to get in if you don't mind me asking. I'm so nervous about not getting accepted into the program. I'm going into applying with a 3.4 GPA. Its a must I do really well on the HESI. How challenging is it? I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but I just really want to get it. Thanks!
I had a 3.4 and scored a 86 on my HESI. HESI is not that bad. You can't over think it. It's a lot of basic stuff. The math is a lot of proportions, ratios, and basic conversions. Get the book the bookstore sells. Study exactly what's in it. And know how to do it on scratch paper just in case. The calculator provided is your basic calculator. Nothing special. The higher the test score the better-3.4 is a good gpa. Don't sike yourself up, eat a good/light breakfast. I took the math potion first (math is my downfall), then the biology, then reading, grammar, and vocabulary. Prioritizing the sections is important if you have a weakness like me. Start studying and brushing up now. If you know how to do something 100%, don't focus on it too much, just review it and then focus on what you struggle with. The biology is BASIC biology. cell structure, etc. it's almost like an ACT in college. Basic stuff from highschool and first level pre-reqs.

HI, I'm interested in the LPN to RN bridge program at BRCC, I'm currently a student at SLCC. I have all non nursing classes needed. I have a 3.8 GPA, I haven't taken the HESI yet. Does anyone have an information on this program or the two classes you have to test out of.
