Can anyone give me suggestions as to how to improve in this area?
My scores in the other departments of the qbank range from the 70s to the 80s while Basic Care and Comfort and Management of care seem to remain forever in the 30s and 40s. It's THAT bad and I'm wondering how to go about improving. For some reason, I just don't know how to assess what they want. I can read the question and know what kind of question it is, but for those two categories, I always narrow it down to two and choose the wrong answer.

Have you watched the content video in that area?
I don't have access to it as I only purchased the qbank but I just realized that if I still have the RN booklet. I'll try reading through those sections and then go do more questions.

I am in the the same boat. My QT scores are in the mid to hi 60s they would be in the 70s if it was not for basic care and comfort. If you find anything that helps please share.

I can't tell you how much I struggled with Basic Care & Comfort. For some reason I would do great on more advanced questions but would falter on those. I did a TON of questions in that area and made sure to really carefully read the rationales. I can now tell you everything you want to know about canes & crutches. I think we do the basics to start and then get in to complex stuff so it's easy to forget which side a pt should hold a cane on (the strong side!) while knowing everything there is to know about cardiac strips. Anyway, do lots of fundamentals questions and really look at the rationales to see what's going on and how to know those things going forward. Good luck!

I struggle too. The best thing you can do is keep doing practice questions every chance you get. I always use my phone to study on road trips and while waiting in line (which is everywhere!). The time really adds up for the course of a week.
On my phone I use NCLEX Mastery, the nice thing is you can sync it with your ipad!

Do practice questions EVERYWHERE like ianursing22 just mentioned. Can't go wrong with NCLEX Mastery app

I'm on the NCLEX Mastery bandwagon! I can't recommend it enough!
