  1. I struggle too. The best thing you can do is keep doing practice questions every chance you get. I always use my phone to study on road trips and while waiting in line (which is everywhere!). The time really adds up for the course of a week. On my phone I use NCLEX Mastery, the nice thing is you can sync it with your ipad!
  2. Saunders is def really good for text books. I prefer using my phone or iPad because of the weight and convenience. After trying out all the apps in the top 5-10, I settled on NCLEX Mastery to compliment my textbooks. More questions than I know what to do with and they have rationales. Also, listening to lectures is beneficial. You can usually find them on itunes or amazon
  3. NCLEX mastery (app) has great electrolyte questions and they also have a bunch of mnemonics to help you remember all the information. I love the menmonics, any memory tricks help!!
  4. Can't say I would pay the price for kaplan or learningtext.com There are several resources out there with equal or superior quality for a MUCH better price. With Kaplan and learningtext.com you are paying for the brand. Try NCLEX mastery, Davis, maybe even barrons don't spend top dollar for average content
  5. More time to study!
  6. Go mobile. Apps allow you to study anytime. I love using them to learn (not just nursing) everywhere i go. Plus, the technical capabilities blow textbooks out of the water. No contest
  7. I think mobile apps are starting to get capabilities that PC software and textbooks will never have. Def time to go mobile, although some are terrible, like ATI's app, saunders app, and kaplan's app.
  8. Danielle made some good points. Kaplan, Saunders, etc don't have the same criteria for passing, they do just a straight forward %. Def try some different sources to change the pace. I agree with danielle's suggestions
  9. I am starting to look into NCLEX-RN resources for my ipad/iphone. Are the available apps any good? Do they utilize my tablets abilities or are they the same as books? Any specific suggestions?
  10. I don't think it will really big a big problem if they work on their 60's or 70's!They are already wise enough to thik of their patient's welfare anyway, being nurses for so many years! Another thing is, there are a lot of fields in nursing which does not really require physical strength
  11. Hi Sunny68...sorry to hear that you that you are going through a tough situation in you life! first, losing a husband and then possibility of losing a job,,very devastating! But I hope you can get out through this victoriously! You really can't please everybody, so expect that there will be people who will like you and there will be people who will not...Focus on positive things that are happening in yuor life , rather than the negative ones! Hoping the best for you!
  12. Just hoping the best for you! Hope you can find a job soon! and never ever break rules again
  13. I will never allow patient/patient's family to inflict any type of abuse on me, whether physical, verbal or whatever it is!If they have rights, I also have mine as a nurse! Nobody should allow themselves to be abused, nurses or not!
  14. Thank you for this great post! I' just new to online communities like this and I might be possible victim if I haven't read this article! I'm just so glad I am a part of this community because I am really learning a lot...
