Barry CRNA Starting 2017

Published

Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! :o How are you all faring?

Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.

Same here. Application was submitted to commitee on 4/16. 3.48 overall, 3.66 last 60, 3.88 science. 2 years medical/surgical ICU, 3 years lvl3+ NICU. Gre of 303 (147, 156, 4.5 writing). I hope to be invited to the next and probably final round of interviews on 7/29.

I also have CCRN in both adult and neonates. Do you think I have a good chance of getting an interview? They already passed my app for 2 interview groups.

Your stats look really good to me...only thing I can think of based on posts from others is your quantitative score isn't 150. Call the external relations coordinator to get an update on your application. I'm sure you could get accepted to other schools no problem as long as your adult ICU experience is the most current.

Thanks CCRNdude. I send her an email almost every other day lately lol. Yes the adult ICU exp is most recent. I wish I had of applied to Barry in January.

Your interview is 6/15? I got a call yesterday too, but my interview is 6/8. I wonder why they're doing interviews so close together. I wonder if the COA granted more spots for acceptance.

Have you heard anything since your interview?

@dachsRN, Hi! Yes I got an email on Thursday. I was accepted with the provision that I complete my chemistry course with a B or higher. Some good news after a tough week here. How'd your interview go? How many people were in your session? Hopefully you'll hear back soon.

And to @CCRNdude @iculuvr @sweetether @rxrachel, hang in there. The director was telling us that the majority of CRNAs are in the 50-55 age range which means they will be retiring soon, leaving a shortage of CRNAs in the field, so the COA may be granting more spots to CRNA schools to accept more applicants into their programs. Fingers Crossed. Good Luck all.

@Cardiac_Erv: I am not sure if you got my response to your message.. I can't send PMs on here for some reason.

Have you heard anything? I haven't....

How many people were at the last interview?

Specializes in OR, ICU.

I think we had about 12 on the 15th.

No nothing yet. It took them 2 weeks to grant my friend his acceptance. So we still have time

Just wondering if anybody got called for the interview in July yet?

I spoke with the ext relations coordinator yesterday. She said that nobody has been selected for the July 29th interviews yet. the ADCOM might meet next week.
