Barry CRNA Starting 2017

Published

Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! :o How are you all faring?

Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.

Congrats You Guys!! I envy you all right now, I hope I get an interview.

@UtahICURN the head start class offered in the summer isn't the Chem refresher; it is one of the classes from the program curriculum from semester 2, so essentially you would be lightening up your second semester, which I hear is the most difficult one.

congrats to everyone getting accepted. now for everyone else still waiting for an interview, are there any new updates? I called them today basically what I got for my application was that it was sent to the admission committee, my invitation for an interview is contingent on how competitive my application is, there's AT LEAST two more interviews, and there are no chosen dates yet....blah, blah, blahhhhh....it was so well-reheorificed. lol I'm going on a month now since I completed my application.

Similar situation here. Just playing the waiting game. Sounds like they've had 3 interviews total so far, with about 15+ in each interview session. If everyone who interviews likely gains a spot, which is what it seems like, then it sounds like they probably have about 2 more interview sessions to go, putting them at about ~70 (give or take.) Not quite sure how they extended the interviews through the summer in previous years. You would think they would fill those spots up quickly.

Waiting game for me too since I applied late. I'm sure a lot of people accept, but later decline for different schools that are closer to their home or cheaper. When you accept 70 people into a field where applicants are known to apply to multiple schools in order to cast a wide net so to speak, I'm sure there are a lot of last minute drop outs who open up last minute spots.

This school is cheaper than all but 1 school in my state, and cost of living is lower in FL as well, so financially it surprisingly makes the most sense for me to attend this school.

Good points! Good luck....hope to see you at the next interview!

Congrats to everyone who was accepted! We have a Facebook page search "Barry crna class of 2019".

Hi, wm1234

who accepts new members? I requested to join the member, and I am still pending.

I let the person who created the page know you requested to join. You should be accepted any minute now.

Did you request the correct page? Barry CRNA class of 2019?

Specializes in Operating Room, ICU, CCRN.

Maybe you're on the wrong page because we don't have any pending requests.

This is so nerve wrecking!! =( I've turned In my application about a month ago and one week ago they said it was going to the committee. So far I know two other people with lower scores, less GPA and less ICU experience then I have.. even accepted with no CRNA and not required to take it. That was from the most recent interview , so fingers crossed.

Good points! Good luck....hope to see you at the next interview!

Thanks, and same to you. From the looks of it if there are two more interview sessions, I'll probably get invited to the last one!

anyone else watching the May 3rd webinar?

Yes, I signed up for the May 3rd webinar as well.

I received my acceptance email Friday!! (interviewed april 15th) Very happy to officially say I am in!!:woot: I don't think I've ever been so anxious/excited/terrified to get an email in my life!!! I probably checked my email 700x/day in the last week.

I am thinking of choosing the Tampa campus. Anyone else in from the april 15th interview squad? Hoping you all are because it seemed like a fun group! I will be in contact with the program and try to post on here things I learn that would be useful to the group. Also, please let me know if there are other barry message boards other places that I don't know about.

Look forward to meeting the class soon!
