Anyone applying to Barry University BSN to DNP starting May 2019?

Congrats! Wish you the very best of luck!

Specializes in Pulmonary / Critical Care NP, CRNA.

I have read elsewhere that the interview is more of a greet and meet - some say they talked for less than 10-15 minutes and that there is a critical care / chemistry test afterwards. During my phone call with Barry when scheduling the interview, I was told that this test did not have any weight in acceptance or not.

Thank you!!

That's what I've heard as well. I hope it's true haha. But I won't feel confident until I have that acceptance letter in my hands (or email? Lol).

From what I've been told, and read on different threads, they want to know about your financial plans, family dynamic and support systems etc. But as much I'm trying not to be nervous I can't help it. And I have a 4 hour drive so that should be great fun for my nerves haha...

Well interview is over... Felt like it could have gone better lol but I think I'm just stressing myself out. Everyone was very nice, test was easy ish - icu stuff was obviously easy but the chemistry was very basic I just haven't looked at that stuff in so long (like types of bonds, calculating moles in 2 liters of a substance etc.) but anyway the only thing that seemed to be an issue for me was my quantitative GRE (143 which I knew was low and I planned to retake anyway but surprisingly got the interview first) - and they said they sometimes accept people on a provisional basis and could accept me based on retaking it - but I'm praying it's just a straight acceptance but hey if I have to test again I will - it's a small price I guess for moving up in my career. Anyway other than that just basic questions about experience, barriers, strengths weaknesses etc.

It felt more than a formality for sure so I just don't even know what to expect! They say you'll hear either way in 2 weeks so I guess I just have to wait then.

Congrats! You'll be fine. I look forward to starting with you next year.

So they said that you'll hear in two weeks whether or not you're accepted?

I look forward to that as well! I have everything crossed haha.

Yup she said "in two weeks you'll hear no matter what." I'm hoping it's sooner though. But trying to practice patience haha.

Hi! How was your interview!?

When is the next round of interviews? Has anyone heard an answer from the first round?

If the first round was Friday that just passed, I know I haven't heard anything! They said I would here in two weeks. But I'm hoping to hear something sooner of course. I know other people have gotten August interviews but I'm not sure of the exact date.

How long did you wait between your application was submitted to review and your interview was scheduled?

Thank you for the update ! Goodluck :) please post if you hear anything!
