Hi! I need more information about Baptist school of nursing in memphis, tn. Im currently a student at Victory University but im wanting to transfer to baptist for fall 2014. What is the GPA requirement for the school? I registered for the interest session on October 2, 2013. I spoke with admissions last week who told me that there has to be atleast 31 transferable credits before may 1, 2014. I will have 31credits by april! Will this decrease my chance of getting accepted since im not submitting transcripts early? Is baptist a good school to attend? Has anyone applied the same year and got accepted for the following semester? How long is the waitinglist if I have to be put on that? Im working towards atleast getting a 3.6 GPA will this be good enough?
I'm Currently waiting on my decision from Baptist for Spring 2014!!!!! Said we would hear something starting the first week of Oct. I was putting on the waiting list for the Fall so I 'm hoping it is a good sign!!!! And yes the early admissions deadline does make a difference on getting wait listed or getting accepted.
OMG!! I know the anticipation is CRAZY!!! I'm rooting for you! So I have a lot of questions! Are you a transfer student and what is your GPA? And how do you know that the early admission deadline determines your acceptance??? I spoke with Christopher Cotton and he made me aware of the fall 2014 admissions deadline is May 1 2014. I won't have me 31 required credits until April! I hope my GPA is high enough to accept me for the following fall.

People who apply by the early admissions deadline get the spots first. The people who apply by the May 1st deadline will compete for the spots that are left. For example, Spring '14 final admissions deadline is Nov 1st. I will know before Nov if I got into the program or not.
Yes I am a transfer student with WAY MORE than 31 hrs lol GPA is 3.1/3.2 just depends on which school you ask lol

The May 1 deadline is for fall 2014. I plan on having everything submitted by April. Wouldn't that be considered early for fall 2014 or would I be wait listed?

March 1: Priority Admissions Deadline
May 1: [COLOR=#555555]Final Admissions Deadline. Applicants who meet the admissions criteria by May 1st will be considered for admission based on available openings.
[COLOR=#555555]From my understanding/experience with the admissions process people who apply between March 1 and May 1 will be filling the spots not filled by the people who applied by March 1
Ex. Spring 14 admissions deadlines Oct 1st and Nov 1st
Oct 1st people will know of admissions status before the Nov 1st deadline and those who wait till nov will have to compete for what spots are left
I'm a current student but I got in during the times where you also got a spot in the clinical at the same time, and because of that I was at least a yr waitlist. So my understanding was you get accepted b4 you get a clinical spot and then apply to your program after what 31-32 credits and then you would start your clinical that next semester. They just just started this admission way summer or fall of this year.
I'm confused about the early progression as well. I've read that some people have waited a year to start clinicals.
Not for certain but early progression might be like how I got in and you already have your clinical spot with get accepted but like mines it was about a year away but your ALMOST certain to get moved up, I got loved up 2 semesters.

What was your GPA when you applied? And how do you like the school? I'll have my 31 credits by April so I'm not going to make the early progression but I am going to make the late one. I have a strong GPA would I still be wait listed if I don't make the early progression?

It was only a 3.0 but I got accepted but I had another degree not sure if that helped.
I love the school I'm currently in adults 2 and next trimester is psych/comm, it's a hard program and I see at least 15-20 ppl fail each trimester, but it's doable with studying and hard work.
