  1. @kjwoods08 Were you accepted into the nursing program or just the school?
  2. Well it was a 3.0 before I took micro so now it's 2.99. She told me my GPA was still competitive but I was scared. So I'm working on my GPA so I can apply to UTHSC also.
  3. I didn't apply because I wanted to raise my GPA although the advisor still told me I should be ok for the spring.
  4. I wonder what is the cut off GPA this time.
  5. I hope you all get in!!!
  6. I'm confused about the early progression as well. I've read that some people have waited a year to start clinicals.
  7. No. By the time the nursing advisor called me to apply for the spring all of the Teas testing sites were full. So I'm taking it next month before UTHSC's deadline.
  8. I have tried looking on the site for that information but it did not state anything about transfer credits. This is what I have copied from the requirements. Sophomore and Accelerated Second Baccalaureate Degree BSN Admission To Be Admitted to the Loewenberg School of Nursing, a student must: 1. Be admitted to the University of Memphis as degree-seeking undergraduate student. 2. Have a minimum college cumulative grade point average of 2.7, a cumulative of 2.66 in prerequisite science courses. (A prerequisite science course may be repeated only once to earn a minimum grade of “C”. A maximum of two prerequisite science courses may be repeated to earn the minimum required grade.) 3. Have completed specific pre-nursing courses with a minimum grade of “C” in all courses: ENGL 1010 & 1020: English Composition I & II (6) BIOL 2010/11 & 2020/2021: Anatomy & Physiology I & II (8) BIOL 1230/1231: Microbiology (4) SOCI 1010: Introduction to Sociology (3); PSYC 1030: General Psychology NUTR 2202 Nutrition or 3202: Nutrition for Health Care (3) MATH 1420: Foundations of Mathematics, MATH 1530: Introduction to Statistical Reasoning and Application, or MATH 1710: College Algebra or Math 2000: Experiences in Mathematics, or MATH 1830: Elementary Calculus, or MATH 1910: Calculus I 4. Clearance of any high school deficiencies. 5. Complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS V) with a minimum overall score of 62.5% (72% on the TEAS IV) and a minimum score of 60 in each of the four test components; Reading, Math, Science, and English. The test can be repeated to achieve the required scores.
  9. For the U of M you must complete your science courses (A&P 1&2, Micro, and Nutrition). I was told by a nursing advisor at the U of M that I may enter the program without all of my general ed classes but I'm required to have them completed by the fourth semester of clinicals. I originally planned to apply to U of M Spring 14 but I was missing a general ed. So I decided to wait to take my TEAS. The advisor called me three weeks ago informing me that I could still apply for the spring and to take my Teas. All of the testing sites were full so I'm taking it next month. I only have to send two more transcripts to Baptist. I do not know about a waiting list for the U of M. Depending on the number of applicants, the U of M will only take GPAs 3.1 and above although the required GPA is 2.7.
  10. I have looked at Union also last night! I'm applying to UTHSC and U of M also. UTHSC is my first choice because it's accelerated. I have applied for Baptist Spring 14 but I rather finish my prereqs at the U of M.
  11. Please keep us updated. I'm interested in Baptist as well. I'm just concerned about their wait list.
  12. How many students were accepted? Is the program hard to get in?
  13. Yes they called me to apply for the spring but I'm missing one gen ed. The advisor informed I could take it in the summer.
  14. If any of you decide to go to the UTHSC this fall can you let me know how things turn out? I was going to apply to the University of Memphis for Spring 2014 until I found out about the UTHSC. I think the time frame will work better than the U of M.
  15. Hi! I am also scared because I have a 3.0 right now!
