Hi. Is there anyone applying to the University of Memphis nursing program for Spring '14?

I plan to attend the nursing program in Fall '13. I only have six more pre-reqs to complete. I need advice on the program because I'm so scared of what to expect. Should I apply this semester or wait until my pre-reqs are done? I plan to take the TEA...

@kjwoods08 Were you accepted into the nursing program or just the school?

Well it was a 3.0 before I took micro so now it's 2.99. She told me my GPA was still competitive but I was scared. So I'm working on my GPA so I can apply to UTHSC also.

I didn't apply because I wanted to raise my GPA although the advisor still told me I should be ok for the spring.

I wonder what is the cut off GPA this time.

No. By the time the nursing advisor called me to apply for the spring all of the Teas testing sites were full. So I'm taking it next month before UTHSC's deadline.

For the U of M you must complete your science courses (A&P 1&2, Micro, and Nutrition). I was told by a nursing advisor at the U of M that I may enter the program without all of my general ed classes but I'm required to have them completed by ...

I have looked at Union also last night! I'm applying to UTHSC and U of M also. UTHSC is my first choice because it's accelerated. I have applied for Baptist Spring 14 but I rather finish my prereqs at the U of M.

Please keep us updated. I'm interested in Baptist as well. I'm just concerned about their wait list.

How many students were accepted? Is the program hard to get in?

Yes they called me to apply for the spring but I'm missing one gen ed. The advisor informed I could take it in the summer.

If any of you decide to go to the UTHSC this fall can you let me know how things turn out? I was going to apply to the University of Memphis for Spring 2014 until I found out about the UTHSC. I think the time frame will work better than the U of M.

I have decided to wait until the fall to apply for next spring. Since you both have been accepted, what are your gpas? I talked to my advisor and was told that most people don't get in with the required gpa of a 2.7.

Thanks for the reply! But is it possible working on weekends because I really will need the financial help unless I take out more loans from school
