Baptist Hospital Selection process

.....shady!

Shady how you step on the seasoned Well Qualified professional who is MORE than qualified to be in your CRNA program.....

What? Elaborate please.

Let me clarify the title of the school..

WAKE FOREST SCHOOL OF NURSE ANESTHESIA in Winston Salem NC

Affiliated with Baptist Hospital...

WEll...I know it is a highly competitive environment you guys have to dwell in when it comes to jumping thru all the hoops to get into CRNA school. And me, I am just an outsider looking in, who happens to be married to one of the Best nurses in the country. I edited this post from yesterday....Those who read it know how I felt...having said this, I just feel like the process is a bit "Cut Throat" and unfair to judge someone in a 1 or 2 hour interview. Thats me though, I'm not a medical person whatsoever. Carry on. Just be aware that if you apply here Don't count on getting in if you don't know someone......

Your wife sounds more than qualified. From what you know, she seems to have all the requirements and then some. The only thing you don't know is how the interview really went. Although she said that it went well, how can you really know unless you speak to someone at the program. I am sure each school weighs the interview differently, but I am sure it is worth a lot anywhere you go. Obviously I don't know your wife, but this is the only thing I can think of. Is Wake the only school she applies to? If it is, perhaps the pressure of having all her eggs in one basket, so to speak, is coming through in the interview. Just a thought. Best of luck, it is a tough process.

I am sorry that your wife was not accepted. I'm not sure what to say except that there are so many other nearby programs in the NC and in the SE USA that she should try. I'm not sure if she applied elsewhere but it may help to try other places. Tell her not to give up.

WEll thankyou for the words of encouragement....

I am ready to file a complaint but don't know where to. she'll bounce back....I'll make sure she does.

Admissions are indeed very competitive and admissions committees have multiple sources of information to consider. Due to the very limited number of slots there are many very qualified people that are not accepted. Just because an individual has not been accepted does not mean that there are grounds for a complaint.

I am a firm believer that things happen the way they are supposed to (even though we may not understand at the time). Have you considered the possiblity that there is something else that a higher power has in mind for your wife's future? I know that right now it is difficult to see your wife hurting and that you are frustrated that others do not see her the same way you do but it will get better and things will be okay. Plan B may also turn out to be a very good thing as well. Best Wishes

True True...I see your point. But the fact still remains that some, Some you KNOW and question the credentials...get in because of "Who knows you" or "Who you know".... I really appreciate your responses too. It helps me to understand (more than I want to...) The Undercurrent that flows in your world . It never ends.

Any changes? Yes sir... My love is on to bigger and better things. I don't want to she is happy where she is now. Any changes in the the "System"?

....Nope.. Others are feeling it too..Just a matter of time now..

Applied to one school and did not make the cut? So now there is some conspiracy at that institution?.. You are not in the medical field, yet you KNOW she was as qualified as the other candidates?..Interesting to say the least.

ha ha..no my friend, she applied to 4 and was accepted to 2 out of state... and you don't have to be a PART of something to see Conspiracy..it eventually TELLS on itself.. and it has!
