I know this is an old post... but, if you're trying to get in the CCRNA program..some lines move faster than others depending on who you are and who you know. Just a warning. Nothing has changed from 3 years ago.

Congrats! That is indeed a good thing. But she has been in the OR for 10+ years and has shadowed for more times than I count.

Yeah..she has done all that. I think I've said enough on this. All the prereqs are done and she has a 3.80 GPA. There are no more classes to take except the clinical part. That to me shows preparation, Willingness to become a CRNA, Drive, Dedication to fulfilling a goal.... maaaaaaaaaaan...........

To answer #1, it was only 1 school this year for personal reasons To answer #2, She did everything they told her to do last year and completed it ALL and then some.....The meeting with the Director I WANT TO ATTEND!!! To Answer #3, She got her BSN at a 4 year WELL KNOWN college and graduated magna cumma laude. I won't say the name because she has no Idea I post here and I don't want her exposed for what I feel and type.. To Answer #4 She gets the interviews no problem. She has done everything asked of her and then some over the last couple of years. .....I just don't know what it could be.. It drives me Bananas and its very frustrating. Geographically relocating is an option, but not possible for now for me. Its frustrating

True True...I see your point. But the fact still remains that some, Some you KNOW and question the credentials...get in because of "Who knows you" or "Who you know".... I really appreciate your responses too. It helps me to understand (more than I want to...) The Undercurrent that flows in your world . It never ends.

Let me clarify the title of the school.. WAKE FOREST SCHOOL OF NURSE ANESTHESIA in Winston Salem NC Affiliated with Baptist Hospital... WEll...I know it is a highly competitive environment you guys have to dwell in when it comes to jumping thru all the hoops to get into CRNA school. And me, I am just an outsider looking in, who happens to be married to one of the Best nurses in the country. I edited this post from yesterday....Those who read it know how I felt...having said this, I just feel like the process is a bit "Cut Throat" and unfair to judge someone in a 1 or 2 hour interview. Thats me though, I'm not a medical person whatsoever. Carry on. Just be aware that if you apply here Don't count on getting in if you don't know someone......

Well...I have stood by for 3 years and watched a dedicated nurse get kicked around like a rag Doll. Has 20+ years of nursing experience, I KNOW shes more than Qualified....... I edited alot of this post, I posted in Anger...because I am.

Thank you so much. I realize how competitive it is out there. And me, the only thing I know medically is how put on a bandaid. I hope she gets in. I see things a little differently now that someone explained some of the reasons that they pick certain people....Knowing is half the battle. BG

Now See that opens my eyes up alot. My wife has been a nurse for over 20 years. I mean Dedicated and Driven. At times put her job ahead of the family because thats her. And she knew I'd take care of the families needs. This is her 3rd year applying. 3 years in ICU now, 3.8 GPA, Not sure what her GRE score was but she has really worked hard and has in my opinion met all the strenuous requirements. I hope she gets in this year. It is very competitive.... Almost in "Cut throat" capacity. Whew!

Hello everyone. It has been almost a year since I last posted. Here we go again...that time of the year. Alot has happened since she last interviewed. I am not medically inclined whatsoever so I only know what I see and have heard. I hope she gets in this year. I realize how competitive it is and alot of what I have witnessed is still unanswered...but its a new year, more experience behind her now. She has worked her a#s off and has sacrificed so much of the normal family life. I know I know, everyone feels like they deserve a chance..I just want the selection process to be Fair. Experience and Knowledge should be put under the microscope. I would like to throw this out there. If Anyone of you were in a bad accident where you had to be Air Lifted out, Would you want a pilot flying the helicopter to be one who has been to IRaq, Desert Storm etc as a chopper pilot, Or one who just got out of Helicopter school last week or a month ago?? Ok..on the other hand, Once you got to the hospital, would you want a seasoned professional nurse who knows Anesthesia and knows the nursing world from many aspects from years of experience ...ICU too of course....? Or one who has only been a nurse for 6 months if those were your only 2 choices hypothetically speaking?. Not trying to be facetious here but I just want to know....
