It sucks though because they are really stressing experienced nurses when I know a ton of new nurses that would love the opportunity to go to this.
I agree with you on that 110%. Even though it asks for experience, that's no reason for a new grad to not attend and get his/her name and resume out there. You never know. Did anyone go?

I went to one last year and I thought it was a complete waste of time. Honestly unless you have great experience, Baptist to me is all about who you know, IMHO, and I have been with them almost 4 years now.
We had a great experience with Baptist South--they cared for my MIL with compassion, patience, and in such a timely manner. However, we recently took her to Baptist downtown--huge mistake and hope to God I never have to set foot in that hospital as a patient. The nurses were condescending, one was downright rude, and had I not been a tele nurse of old, she never would've been hooked up to the monitor--with a history of sick sinus syndrome and bradycardia in the 20s less than an hour before. Ugh. Hate that place.

They do not seem to be interested in new RNs. They advertise all the time but reject anyone w/o 1+ years experience.
Is that a Magnet hospital thing? They're designated a Magnet hospital, aren't they? For the life of me, I don't know how.
