Banner Desert Childrens

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi,

Does anyone work here or looked into working here? I am working right now as a new grad in cali and am relocating in August. Just wanted to see if anyone knew about new grad opportunities, particularly for NICU :nuke:

Specializes in NICU.

Banner Desert hires new grads into the NICU two times a year. From what I remember it's in January and May ...... sometime around then, after each semester's graduating class is done with school.

You need to apply early though, as there are only so many spots available and they go fast.

Also, if I remember correctly, it's a 1-2 year committment.

Correct me if I'm wrong ..... most of this information is just from what I remember when I applied there after I graduated (and I didn't get in because I applied too late, so I went elsewhere).

Specializes in Pediatric ICU.

Phoenix Children's Hospital has an awesome new grad program. It is competitive but they do hire from out of state. They're always looking for great people. Here's the link. http://www.phoenixchildrens.com/employment Search for RN positions and type in keyword GAPP.

I'm currently in the program and it has been a great experience. I'm so glad that I chose this hospital.

Good luck!

Specializes in NICU.

Just an FYI for the OP ...... Phx Children's is different than Banner Desert. Phx Childrens is in Phx and Banner Desert is in Mesa ...... two completely different facilities.

Specializes in NICU/PICU/peds.

I work in the NICU right now as an extern II (just graduated last night - woot!) and I really like it. They are expanding like crazy right now because they are slated to open their 100+ bed level III NICU this year, and are also finishing up another freestanding children's hospital. I'm happy with Banner Desert. My sister worked for PCH and loved it there, too.
