Bakersfield College Fall 2018

Published

Starting this thread to hopefully get an idea of the point system at BC now that it's no longer a lucky hat. I'm applying for Fall 2018 and have applied for another program too. Have yet to take my TEAS 6, but I will soon. GPA is not too strong and I dont have a lvn license or paramedic... that gives +10 points. 😩

Those who were accepted did they give you the Teas Test date? I'm curious how much notice you were given before having to take the test. I usually hear it's about two weeks?

I will be applying again but I have applied several times before and never get in....

For those who haven't taken the TEAS 6 the test date mentioned on the email was May 14th.

How many of you applied to just RN or LVN to RN

This was my first time applying for the ADN.

How many times have you applied if you don't mind me asking? Have you applied to other schools besides BC? I am considering applying to other schools in the area. Their point criteria seems less specific than BC's.

How many times have you applied?

Hey everyone, just joining the chat but this is my first time applying and I got put on the "alternate" list. Anyone else in my shoes and know how the list works? Is it randomly generated or still based on points? Thanks!

Has anyone received a waitlist number I'm dying here

Not sure, but I know someone who was alternate #13 And got in, so good luck! I think it's both pts and random.

Did you apply for the bridge lvn-rn?

Congrats to those of you chosen as an alternate or are conditionally enrolled! Unfortunately, I was not selected :( I was wondering, did any of you complete the remediation program? I am pretty bummed out, because I did, and then with this new system, they got rid of the remediation program unless you had to do it for failing the TEAS, which was not my case. I was deemed ineligible by 2 points on the old system, so I spent A LOT of time and money completing the classes to make me eligible. Then they changed to this new system, and I was told that I was allowed to apply this one semester, and if I didn't get in, "that's it!" tough luck! I am so bummed out, just wondering if anyone else on here had a similar experience.
