Thinking back to not-so-long-ago OB clinical. Wow- those nurses were brutal. I let them bully (yes, I mean bully) me to the point that I was sick to my stomach from the minute I got on site to my off duty time.
They nit picked me for doing interventions I learned in lab. Wrote me up with a poor evaluation because I spent too much time with mom/dad/infant. What ever happened to Watsons' theories? Blown out the window I guess - I doubt those nurses are familiar with her theory. And the talons on that nurse that trained me. I shudder to think what lives under those nails.
Won't ever darken their door again, won't even think of my wife giving birth at that hospital.
Thanks "ladies" for the memories.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I always welcome students and love to teach.
Was this a vent, or...? I'm just trying to figure out what you want from this thread. It appears that you registered at this site solely to post what you did, and I'm kind of at a loss what you want from us.

Where was your instructor when you were being bullied? Seems he/she left you out to dry... Consider this a lesson in life. There will be other times when you are bullied, whether it be by doctors, administrators, other nurses, whoever. Learn from this experience and use what you've learned to formulate a plan to combat the bully in a professional manner next time. Bullying is never ok. Sadly, this behavior still takes place. Don't fall into the pattern though. Be the example of change...
Thanks for the comments and feedback. I guess my post would be considered a vent. It was awhile ago now, but for some reason I am having a hard time letting it go.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience.
