OKay, so on the application(s) for ABSN programs, there is that question "have you ever been arrested for a felony or misdemeanor?" Well yes I have, a misdemeanor, so I checked yes.
One of the universities emailed me saying I had a legal hold on my account and I needed to complete a background check through SentryLink. Well I did, and my arrest doesn't even show up on there. There was a speeding ticket on there from when I was a teenager, but nothing about the arrest..?? I'm confused?
If it's not showing up on background checks, I don't know that i should be checking yes to that question. The verdict was "adjudication withheld" and I pled "no contest" for any of you legal people.
Some please help explain this to me..

If it's not in your record don't check yes.
Would different background check companies show different things?
I think for anyone else who might have a question like this...different agencies will show different information so you should be honest. While Sentry Link did not show my arrest, I ran a background check on myself through my state's website, and it did show up on criminal history. You should run a background check on yourself if you can. It wasn't that expensive.

This is not a question we can answer. We would advise you to consult with a lawyer - a few dollars now will save you much grief later on. Take care.
