Azusa Pacific Unversity--accelerated program and working?

U.S.A. California

HI.

I just recently got accepted to Azusa Pacific's new nursing program in San Diego, EENAP.

I was wondering if anyone is already taking the nursing program with Azusa and if you recommend working at the same time.

thanks!

The EENAP program in SD skips every semester. I was bummed when I found this out b\c I was planning on attending fall 09 too. I spoke with Jeannee Tuckness and she said that spring 2010 is also full but they always have spots that open up. Have you applied?

I did not apply because I was also told that Fall 09 and Spring 10 is Full. If I don't get in somewhere this year I might apply for Spring 10.

For those of you are are accepted to the SAN DIEGO EENAP program.. CONGRATS!

i have a few books i'd like sell so if wen you begin let me know.

good luck!

I would be interested in some of your books but I don't begin until winter 2010. What year are you? What do you think of the program so far? Any advice for a newbie?

Kristi

I am starting January 2010 as well, not sure what books we will be having yet. But sure, we'll keep in touch. I am so excited to start. I am counting down until January.

KSBASH - winter, is that Jan 2010 as well? Then we will be cohort mates.

Take care all! Happy Memorial WEekend.

Hello,

I have just been accepted for EENAP program for Fall 2010 !YAY!

My question is: what did you guys do next? I mean, should I expect an interview or another letter? I heard about interview, how does it look like?

thanks,

2bnurse_it,

Thanks for all the helpful info you've given us. I'm sure someone has probably already taken your offer to buy your used books, if not, I would be interested as soon as I know what books I will be needing. I start in January 2010, so it's going to still be a while, but hey, if by then you still have books to sell, let me know.

By the way, I am really nervous about how I will pay for the tuition at Azusa. How competitive were the scholarship applications? I have a 3.90 undergrad GPA, so far A's in all pre-preqs, my only work experience was in the mortgage industry. I know I could probably interview well unless I screwed up really bad. Do you have any advice on increasing your chance of winning a scholarship? You mentioned getting the Kaiser award, that's awesome. Pls advice.

Thanks for the info.

After being accepted, I got the letter in the mail and a phone call, and that's about it. I have not received anything else or any interview requests. I start Jan 2010, so I'm hoping I get information soon.

Theresa

Congrats LivingDreams on your acceptance.

I did not have an interview. I did recieve an official acceptance letter in the mail and talked with someone in the office about some paperwork. From there, I think it's kind of a waiting game because it's so far in the future.

congrats! since 2010 is another year away, i'd be glad to give you some books if they are still the same. just keep in touch and let me know when your program starts.

As far as advice... enjoy the time you have without school. i always thought i needed to prepare for the eenap program, but trust me, everything will be taught to you when it comes. so enjoy your time right now with friends, family and make the most of it. Because once it starts, i can honestly say its alot of work.

hey there. congrats again. with the books, no one has really taken my offer but again, keep in touch and if we got the same books still in 2010, let me know :)

as far as scholarship, we were given the opportunity to apply for the kaiser forgiveness loan and really, all i did was fill out the application and have an interview. I'm not sure what the base their acceptance for scholarships on, but for the interview, they had asked us clinical type questions that dealt with time management, priorities, and decision making. Honestly, i thought I didn't get it, but anything can happen.

I'd say just apply and if you get it, you get it. Doesn't hurt to apply right?

good luck to you!

2Bnurseit - Thanks for the advise. I guess I need to just see what happens once I cross that bridge. I am going to try to obtain my CNA and get some clinical experience, if not, volunteer at the hospital. I really need to up my chances because I dont' know how else I would pay for it without getting loans. My husband and I just have so much debt already.

FYI to everyone thinking of applying, a friend of mine called today and she was told there is now a waitlist until summer 2011! This is insane, not sure but it sounds like they suddenly got a huge application pool. When I applied October 2008, they were still accepting for Spring 2010. I guess their wait is now 2 yrs, I waited for 1.5 yrs, but it worked out for me because they allowed me to apply while completing prereqs. That I don't know, if they still allow that. Goodluck to all who are still applying.

Theresa
