Azusa Pacific 2+2 Summer 2020

Published

Hi everyone!!

Is anyone else applying for Azusa Pacific's 2+2 transfer program for summer 2020? If so, i'd love to connect and share stats. I am currently finishing up microbiology this fall, and will be applying before the Febuary deadline!

3.72GPA

150 volunteer hours

3 years of hands on patient care experience

I'm hoping we all get in!!!

@ReneeH Thanks I will look into that. WOW! LA is far, for me it will be about an hour commute as well but since we will have clinical and all that near the campus I was thinking of getting an apartment so it can be more convenient? But I am still unsure, have you thought about moving as well?

I have thought about it. But I own my home and am not crazy about the idea of selling it or renting it out. So I’m going to try to make it work. If it truly becomes too much for me to commute I’ll do what I have to do Ykwim? I think moving up there is the smartest idea if you don’t have anything keeping you from doing so. I have some friends up there so I have warned them I may be borrowing their couch from time to time. LOL.

@ReneeH Yeah I think it will be easier if I move up there and that's great that you know people around the area. I agree to see how things go, I don't have anything holding me back so I might just move for the two years since I don't know anyone in the area.

Congrats to the people that got accepted! I also received a call from Hannah on February 28 (Friday) and an email saying that I was accepted for the Cohort 30 of Azusa Pacific University's High Desert BSN Transfer Program . I was so happy, excited, but kind of worried. Worried because I am from Long Beach and have no idea on how to find a place to stay at Victorville, preferably near the campus. I was so glad too to find out that this post is updated. I cant' wait to meet you guys. Hopefully I find someone to rent an apartment with. Again keep it posted guys. Hoping for others to receive their calls as well.

Hi @miggy2020 congrats on your acceptance. I look forward to meeting you. GL on finding an appt. I wonder if reaching out to previous cohorts would help in narrowing down which complexes to look at/avoid etc. I’m also wondering if the program reps would be any help in connecting students that are looking for roommates? See you soon!

Hi there!

I also got accepted into Spring 2020 .. I was wondering is anyone looking to rent a room? I recently got a two-bedroom apartment and I'm looking to rent out the additional room, if anyone is interested please let me know.

Best,

Laya

Hi Laya,

I saw your post from earlier and I was am also planning to move closer to the campus but I don’t know much about the area or apartments. I was wondering if you could update us on apartments that are good to rent and if you would know anyone looking for a roommate?

Hi @miggy2020 congratulations! And yes I too am worried because classes will start so soon and I want to move closer to the campus as well but I don’t know much about the area. Hopefully in orientation they update us on apartments and we find more people who want to move closer.

Thank you ReneeH & Coffeeloverxx, I am looking forward to meet you guys too. And as far as the apartment, I recently spoke to one of the APU advisor and I asked her some basic information. The advisor told me that the class starts in May. And as far as apartment, they told me that unfortunately they dont assist students on finding a place to stay because the students should be responsible for it. The advisor also suggested that I should start looking for apartments or a place to stay given that class will start 2 months from now.

I hope this comment help the people who's specifically planning to move to Victorville area.

Really? I just called apu and they told me that I should call student affairs and they could help me towards finding a good area or directing me to the right path in finding a place but when I called it said their systems are down. But I will call back and keep you updated.

Hello @zmi2g020,

I called them today and they just told me they don't assist in any housing and they told me general information and then I asked to be transferred to talk to the nursing department. They told me that a lot of students wait until orientation to meet each other and find people to move in with. Which I thought was too short of a time to make arrangements but she said that most cohorts have done it. So I guess we should wait? Also, she told me that we will soon get an email letting us know what vaccines and other things we need and it will be sent out before orientation. I hope this was helpful.

I received the program email today and will work on the requirements as early as tomorrow. And as far housing, I feel like its going to be challenging at first given that we dont really know much about the area, but as long as we get to meet the people at the orientation who's also planning to find an apartment then our worries should at least be minimize given that there's a big possibility that many other students too that are desperately looking.
