Has anybody gone through this program and does anybody know where this certificate is accepted. I do not want to check with admissions of a million schools just to know where 4 classes would be accepted. If you have gone through this program, or know of somebody who did, it would help me decide if this is for me.
I may end up doing a different program, but I would like my questions answered please, even if its just a "I don't know". Thank you!

The school is regionally accredited, so credits should transfer easily -- in theory. The only issue is that they are online, and some schools may have an issue with online sciences that come with online labs. It is also very expensive! $6800 for four classes? I paid about that much for my entire ADN program. You are probably better off checking with your local community colleges for these classes -- a lot of CCs have online options these days. You might also be taking classes through this program that aren't required for nursing programs, like chemistry -- not sure if that's a big pre-req.

Hi Scurbro, were you able to get anymore info on where these clases are accepted? I'm also looking for more info on Azusa Pacific Online University Pre-nursing Certification classes. They offer on-line health sciences with a lab packet. I'm also curious to learn more about the Associates Degree in Health Sciences that APOU offers. I'll schedule a few appointments with counselors to inquire if these online health science classes will be accepted for their nursing programs, but I too would like to know if anyone has already done some of the footwork and looked into this, your insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

Hi there, Has anyone ever found out if those classes have be able to be transferred to a CC? I am suppose to start the classes soon, but having a hard time with the cc's telling me if they are accepted or not. They are all so busy. Any info will help.

Hi All,
I'll just cut to the skinny here....I've completed the Azusa Pacific Online University Pre-nursing Science Certification classes and even though they are accredited with good professors and a thorough curriculum, so far 3 community colleges have told me the same thing....they WILL NOT ACCEPT classes in which the science labs are done on-line, even if they are accredited. Someone posted $6,800 for these 4 classes. That amount is wrong. When you include the lab packs, microscope and books it's right around $8,000. These classes are no joke and VERY time consuming (even though you take "only" one every 8 weeks). The APU online classes were FAR more difficult than traditional classes. Take it from someone who has their bachelor's with a 3.90 GPA.
I'm still looking but have yet to find an RN program (other than APU) that accepts these classes. I can't afford a private school RN program and I now feel as if I flushed $8,000 and a year of my academic life down the drain. I hope this helps. If anyone knows of ANY school that accepts APU's on-line sciences, please post.

Perhaps you could ask Azusa Pacific what other schools previous students of theirs were accepted into?
Hi Squishy RN,
I asked that question before enrolling and their answer was "These classes are fully accredited so they should transfer to any school." Pixie RN is correct IN THEORY they should all transfer. Problem is, most schools will not accept online labs. I've had both anatomy on the college level and with APU's online program....the online labs were far more difficult. I have asked that same question since finishing...literally my answer from them has been, "Let me look into that for you and I'll get back to you." I haven't heard a word back from them. So I'm going to call a 3rd time today.
So words to the wise...I have yet to find a nursing program outside of APU that accepts their on-line science classes. Until APU online University or University College provides a list of nursing programs that accept their online sciences LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! They have $8,000 of my money and I have 4 science classes under my belt that were extremely difficult and don't transfer anywhere. Would you like to be in my position?

I'm sorry about your situation. I wish I could suggest more things, but I know the public schools are very strict about their requirements. I know of another school that accepts online labs, since I have a friend who started their RN program there after taking online science classes with online labs (not APU though, some other program), but it is a private for-profit. And frankly, if it were a choice between a private for-profit or APU, I would choose APU. Neither solution helps with decreasing costs though. Maybe start asking the CSUs too instead of just the CCs? I wish you the best of luck! Keep us updated.

I asked Clarkson College in Omaha if they accepted Straighterline classes and they said yes. So I think it depends on the school. Clarkson College is a very good school

Western Governors University accepts online. I was actually given APU as a place to get sciences done but when I saw the price I said NO THANK YOU!!! I don't own a bank and they don't have Financial Aid.
Hi SquishyRN,
Thank you for your kind words. The only CSU school I researched (Cal State Long Beach) does not accept online labs. It's been a frustrating process. I have decided to bite the bullet and apply at APU and just take out the loans to get it done. Their science program is great just not widely transferable because of the on-line labs. I'll keep you posted. I hope they consider me as I did my sciences with them. I'll keep you posted. Thank You for caring!
