Hello prospective NP students!
I wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to APU ELM program for the 2016 academic year! We can talk about anything you guys want! Your status, GPA, stats, interviews, and application process!
I just finished applying and speaking with the advisor!

@k_anderson - Welcome to the forum of waiting! LOL. I applied to the IE campus and I have heard nothing thus far. I did call them the week prior to the 31st and was told they would be meeting on the 31st to make decisions for all the campuses. They also told me that we would hear back from them within the first couple of weeks of September. I took a brief inventory of people posting on this forum. It seems that it is the SD and Main campuses that have gotten out to people at this point. I too would like to know if anyone else that applied to the IE campus has heard anything.
@k_anderson. Seriously! Ever since YUYU1219 responded that she heard on Monday, I've been checking my phone almost instantly when it buzzes. LOL. Man, I hope we find out soon. Waiting, when you know others at the other campuses are hearing back is brutal. Are you taking any classes this semester? I am finishing up my last prerequsite.
So the administrators at APU mistook me for another person and thought I was in the Spring Cohort. But I'm not, haha. Still, I learned that the Spring cohort will begin their orientation on January 11. It consists of two days: the first day will have to be at the Azusa campus.
For those still waiting, it seems like the administrators are still doing a lot busy back-and-forth, planning the acceptance invites and orientation events. Hopefully the decisions for acceptances come out soon. Can't wait to meet everyone from all campuses.
Alright friends, to all who have applied to the Inland Empire location: No phone calls or emails will be sent out.. ONLY letters in the mail! So check your mail boxes daily :] I spoke with the Program Manager this morning via email and this is the information she gave me. (Obviously I've been impatient and couldn't take it anymore haha)
For those of you that have been accepted to Azusa main campus ELM Summer 2016! I'd like to start a facebook group! Plans for housing, financial aid, etc. Please find me on facebook! My name is Mallory Malecki! :)
@Malec001, would you like to start a Facebook group for ELM Summer 2016 but with all campuses involved? Maybe we can help each other out and find out more resources if we band together. For example, we could expand our choices for study groups if we are traveling up in L.A. or you're vacationing down in S.D., or compare notes with professors that have different ways of teaching. At the very least, we could share/sell textbooks and other stuff to save money. A member of our group is already saving to put down the $1000 deposit required of us to reserve our seats. I think it's important to keep our debts down while we keep our grades up, wouldn't you say?
@k_anderson - Brutal. What is sounds like to me is that before the letter is generated and mailed out that, if we are accepted, we will get an e-mail saying that our status with the college has changed to Graduate Student affiliation with APU. Then the letter would follow that since they are mailing that out.
@chemshark That's a great idea!!! Would you like me to start it? I'll go ahead and get that started right now. This will be a ELM 2016 cohort group! Ah yes! I have yet to get the details in the mail but I've heard the $1000 deposit is needed. Congrats to all! Hoping all of the IE cohort hears back soon!!!
