Awaiting Nclex results..anyone with me???

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi everyone..

I am new to the board. I just took my nclex monday, feb 12 in san diego california. The test was an absolute nightmare. I graduated from my lvn program with really good grades and I swear I felt like I knew nothing on that exam. Especially the pharmacology. I am wondering if I can still pass if I completely bombed the pharm??

Also, I heard that you can't check the bvnpt website for licence verification, in california, in order to find out if you passed sooner?? I heard they don't post your name until you pay the $100 fee?? Any truth to that cause I have been checking the website daily and nothing.

Anyway..just hoping to meet some others playing the waiting game with me!! Hopefully by the grace of god I passed! It will be a miracle, but I have hope. Also my test shut off at 85. Good luck to all those waiting and congrats to those that have passed cause that was one crazy test!!!

im kinda confused because some california test takers got their results in a matter of few days while some waited for weeks... i know that California deliberates the result in about 3 weeks but if that is so, then why do some people knew their results earlier than expected? i dunno what to believe..some say after 3 working days, i should check Ca BRN site and check my name if it's listed there to know if i passed..is that true to all?

i took the exam in march 14..i cried after the computer shut at 75!!! im not so sure of my answers and so is my passing. but i have faith in God..i am still expecting for the best!!

hope you guys help me with your advises..thanks!! Godbless!

emturkey,

The BRN stands for RN's hense Board of Registered Nursing. (BRN) I guess you can go on the website to get your results much sooner?

I did LVN and the LVN's have to wait 3 wks or longer and receive it only by mail. Some are lucky and got them in 2 wks! Wishful thinking! I'm on 2 1/2 wks! Dreading every step to that mailbox!

Good luck to you!

Thanks for your replies! Yes, the waiting game here in california is ridiculous!! What is the big deal about getting unofficial results in 48 hours? This is pure torture. I have so many things up in the air pending this result..my IV cert class (suppose to take that next week), my application to the LVN to RN program, a job ect. I thought I could get faster results from the bvnpt website like the RN's but I guess I was wrong. Unfortunately my school doesn't pay the liscense fee for us. I have to wait for the mail and send it in. Then theres another month of waiting!! I hear of others in different states who have their result and liscense within days after the test?? Is our state that overwhelmed or just lazy?? Don't get it, but right now I am taking a microbiology class and algebra class and I can't even concentrate on those classes right now. If I am not thinking about the test I am having dreams about the test. It's nuts...I am a pretty laid back person and I had no idea something could get to me like this!!

Anyway..I don't know what to think, but I am pretty sure I bombed the pharm. I didn't even get any dosage questions..you would think they would want to make sure I can at least administer meds safely. So many priority question, nothing on diabetes. My instructor told us to know diabetes up down and sideways cause the exam has tons of questions on diabetes...makes sense, but nothing. One Lantus question..which I did get right.

Well.. I will just wait , wait and do somemore waiting!! While I am waiting I will just pray! Thats all I can do!

I took my NCLEX-PN midweek and it was a total torture. I used this board (reading post) for some reassurance, and the posts help me to remain sane. My exam finished at 85 question, but when it finished my mind went blanked. Yes, for a while I thought I was on a rolled (Priority, who needs follow up, which doctor's order would you question, but then came the teaching questions about Meds and diet especially...some I knew I got right, but there were some I tried to do process of elimination..they kept coming. For a while, I thought how no...i'm getting them wrong, and why I'm not getting any easy questions or dosage ( I got dosage down pack..I would've killed those questions)? to my disbelief they never came!! Anxiety kicks in at that point, mind started racing all over the place and answering quickly (even though I still had over 3+ hours left)!! Thank goodness it was mild anxiety because I gather myself and focus on the question and stop worrying about which questions i'm (think) getting wrong. Then came the option to have a break ( question 74 or 75), I opted out and just continue. When the computer shut off, there was a part of me that wanted it continue, because I felt I could've prove myself with some more question. The last three or four questions was on meds teaching, and one of the meds I look up and found out it's use only in extreme situation if other drugs has fail to help, in a hospital setting, and doubt an LPN will be taking care of that kind of patient... more likely be on a Cardiac floor or ER. I walked out feeling like...what the hell just happen!! I totally failed... what i'm going to say to school, instructors, classmates. I felt like I was in another world just floating around. My recall of any question was blanked until the next day, I started remembering some and saying.. there is no way I did that bad for the computer to shut of so early and didn't give me a chance, because I felt I answer those priority, follow up questions and had a wide range of patients (diabetic, peds, maturnity, psych, cardiac etc.) It was a very, very, very weird feeling and exam. One that I don't want to face again! Thanks Allnurses.com and everyone because, it helps to know you are not the only one feeling daze and in disbelief after experiencing "The NCLEX monster" as one poster stated.

I find out I passed on Pearsonvue yesterday and find my license posted on BON website this morning. Thanks Allnurses.com

I just found out I passed!!!! Yeaah!!! I am so relieved!

It took 2 wks 5 days to find out.

It was a white envelope with 4 papers stapled together in it (for those who keep asking what the pass envelope looks like.)

Thanks to threads like this, it helped me survive during the wait!!
