Hey all!!!
I am just curious about the salary of CRNAs. I know that it may differ depending on what area you are in (CT,Gen surg, dentist office, ect), but I would like to know the REAL average salaries from those who are already in the field. Sorry for being nosy, but I just want a "round about" example. THanks!!!

Just FYI, money can be a touchy subject around here. Some may resent those who express interest in the profession which is perceived to spring from financial considerations alone.

I did not mean to offend anyone by asking about average pay for CRNA. Although the subject may be touchy, I wanted to know as this will be what I will do until retirement (not to mention paying back those evil student loans and borrowed money to live on while in school:uhoh3: ). As I am not doing this for the money, it is a valid concern. My apologies to anyone who took this the wrong way.

B.,
I am not a CRNA. So, I can't answer that question, but I do understand your concern. I believe that most people want to know "how much they will make" and "how much to expect." Life is NOT free and we all need to make money in order to live. That being said, many people forget about that once they "have the job" or were taught to never discuss money. I don't really get it, but that is our society. Also, I've had many jobs in different states and I find salary.com to be inaccurate. Statistics are a tricky thing. Imagine you live on a street where everyone on the street makes 20,000 a year and then Bill Gates moves into the last house on the street. Well, statistics will say the average homeowner there makes 1.2 million a year. OR it could cancel out the extremes...Bill Gates and the other guy down the street that is an "artist" and makes $5000 a year. Or they could take the mode or median. I think you see what I am trying to get at. Looking at stats doesn't really tell you much unless you know HOW they arrived at those stats.
I wish you the best of luck with your career. And, don't worry about offending anyone. You have a valid question and maybe someone will give you a round about figure. You are not asking for personal information. What you want is PROFESSIONAL information for the career path in which you are interested in seeking a degree.
Sincerely,
Jay
