Forgive me if I sound crazy, but what is a non-compete clause? I sounds like you won't deal with any other company except them? Am I right? I have never heard of this clause

If you are worried about the term "non graduate" on your license, I would wait until graduation. OR if you are abel to sit for the NCLEX before graduation, can you change the status to "graduate" on your license after graduation? Ask your state BON about that. I have never heard of taking the NCLEX before graduation. Just a personal question...why in such a hurry to take it before graduation? Go with your gut. If you are confident enough to take it and pass first go around go for it, just see if the graduation "status" can be changed after you walk across that stage. Hi again, My recruiter mailed me and told me she had 2 positions in the ICU in Raleigh, NC. She did not put the names if the hosp. only the pay. One pays 9 dollars more than the other, but both are in Raleigh!!! That seems weird to me. Anyway, I will talk to her tomorrow about what hospitals these are, but any early input????? Anyone ever work for nurse choice short term contract??? Thanks!!

Hi all!! Taking a few weeks off between assignments. I don't know where to go now. I was thinking about taking a 4-8 week in AZ or CA with Nurse choice. Or going to FL and working at a hospital there (heard anything about Shands hospital)? How about ICU at Pitt CO, NC? Where should I STAY AWAY FROM in these areas?I am all over the place !! Anyone have good history with Nurse choice? Any info is appriciated!!Thanks B.

I feel you!! I am not married, but I do miss my family. I just finished cooking my first thanksgiving dinner that I will eat by myself. I requested to have Friday (day after thanksgiv)off through tuesday but was denied:scrying: , so I am stuck 8 hours away from family and friends. So, I just finished cooking and talking to my parents to make sure I got everything just right. My stuffing is too moist though, I continued cooking it and the top got hard but the middle is too moist (go figure). Everything else turned out ok. So this is my first holiday with out my family, but my momma will call me to check on me (she can sense that I an a little lonely at this time). My assignment is up Dec 19th, so I will be home for Christmas Can't wait!! Hope everything gets better for you. Maybe you and your hubby can travel someplace fun and exciting together!!Take care, I'll say a prayer for you!!!

Hey all, Gotta make this quick...I need all you psch fellow nurses to help me. I am SUPER CLAUSTROPHOBIC and darn near have a panic attack when I have to take my pts on an elevator. It is affecting my job BIGTIME. Any one else with this problem. Been like this since a little girl. Big elevators are okay the little ones are a problem. I take stairs everywhere except pt. transport of course. Your help wanted!!!!! :( :( B.

I am about to get cancelled from Geico because I travel and I am gone from my resident state more than 50% of the year. How do you all do car insurance??? Most places don't insure for 3 months at a time but for 6 months at a time. My insurance will be cancelled on the 29th for this reason. I need to know what to do. the customer service personell could not really help me. She just said I need to find a insurance co who can insure me 3 months at a time for what ever state I move to!!!!! I work in CVICU. I just check into my apt. and I am Pi.... off!!! This place is dirty. Mildew in the tub. Food spills in the microwave and fridge. kitchen floor black with dirt and trash, green stuff in the cabinets.......My company will put me in a hotel until monday when my apt. can get clean. The maint. people are out until then!!!! Can't even unpack all my stuff because it is so filthy. It is better that I stop before I get upset over again. i start hospital orientation monday. Hope everything else is going to be great. Going to the hotel to shower and relax. Long day.......... B.

I am sorry to hear about your failed test too. I know a few girls who had to retake the math exams a few times in nursing school. We got accepted before we took the math test though. The teachers really worked hard with those girls to make sure they understood the math. Everybody passed..just some took more retakes...limit was 3 tries before probation (NOT expelsion-spelled right?) any way, pray and stay focused. Study and come up with some relaxation techniques (do you think you have test anxiety?) Can some of the students or the teachers help you for next time??? God Bless on your assignment. I am sure all will go well. Just finishing my first. The BIGGEST adjustment is being homesick. I just go out and see and do things on my days off. I have been here 2 1/2 months and I feel like I know my way around very well and there are STILL things I have not done/seen yet. I will say a little prayer for ya!!! You will be fine!!

Hi all!! How do you all handle mail? I am moving to my new assignment in 2 1/2 weeks. When I moved here I did a change of address from my home town, and my mom is still getting some of my mail. My concern is that if I change address every three months, then some of my mail will get "stuck" at an old address or I will just flat out loose some of my mail. How do you guys solve this problem? Have you had a problem getting mail to your new address with every move? I was also thinking about just changing my address back home and let my mom send my mail once a week, but don't want to inconvience her (I really don't think she would mind). Any ideas???Thanks!! B.

Hi all! Actually, I will be getting paid 35 dollars (after negotiation) an hour (at Inova) with free private housing (apt. looks nice on the website). I also get insurance and too. The only thing I have to pay is internet/cable/phone if I want a land line.Did I just get jipped? I really did not want to go through the hassle of finding another company since I really am satisfied with this one so far....Before I found this one I tried On Assignment and the recruiter left me in the wind!! So I found this one. On assignment still has my application on file though, so maybe I will keep my options open with them. How do you all do it? Do you go to two companies and see which one offers more money for a particular assignment? I heard it is not good to be submitted by two companies though, so how does this work with more than one company to work for without getting "caught up" and being submitted? :confused:
