Average pay for office RN

I am just curious about what the average pay is for an office or clinic RN? I am currently working on a busy med-surg floor and make a decent wage. I am not happy at my current job and am looking into finding something new. I realize that clinic nurses don't make as much as hospitals nurses, but I am just curious if it is a big difference. It may be worth it to me to take a slight pay cut to be happier at my job. Thanks.

I work at a family planning clinic in CA and make close to $ 38/hr. Was working per diem at a CA hospital and making $56/ hr. Took the pay cut for better hrs and more family time.

I have 3 years experience in the hospital setting (med/surg-tele and LDRP) making $22.05 an hour + diff here in Kansas City , my last night shift being Friday. Monday I start a new position as a primary RN for a Plastic Surgeon and will be starting at $21.00........No brainer for me to leave the crazy, high stress, no lunch and no potty break environment. The practice that I am going to comprises of six Plastic Surgeons who have just built a state-of-the-art facility that resembles an art museum more than an office......I've died and gone to nurse Heaven!!!!!

I'm actually really interested in working at a Plastic Surgeon's office again one day. I did temp work for 3 months at a small, nice one as the front desk. Loved the environment and the hours. But I didn't think they hired nurses???

How did you get hired and what does an RN do at a plastic surgeon's office? Thanks ?

I am taking a $3.25/hr pay cut going from PICU to clinic (transfer within the hospital). With the 4 extra hours per week, it is a total of $638.56 a year decrease in base pay. Not figuring in the shift and weekend differentials, but I figure (hope?) that I'll wind up paying less in taxes and it will be a wash. Well worth it for me!

We earn the same as hospital RN's because we are unionized. Currently I make approx $43 an hour (top of the pay scale). The only thing I lost when I went from inpatient unit to the clinic was shift diff and weekend pay. But I never noticed the difference on my take home pay.

Moving from a hospital to a clinic was actually an increase in wage for me. In clinics in Wisconsin, I believe it's usually $50,000-54,000 for staff RN, $57,000-60,000 for RN supervisor, $63,000-66,000 for RN manager, and $70,000 for NP. Not sure where you're located, but I hope this helps.

California pays $28-40 and up, depending on experience, education, position you are in.

I was just hired as a Clinic/Triage RN in the Milwaukee area with starting pay of $28.55. I was quite surprised as it is about $2.50 more/hr than when I was on a hospital floor. They had told me during my HR interview that clinic nurses did not make as much as hospital floor nurses so I was expecting $25/hr. I am now going to be working for a different healthcare system, so maybe that is why it is higher. I'm thrilled!

If you work for a company like Kaiser under a union the clinic nurses are paid the same as everybody else. I am at $60/hr.
