AVC 2021 Spring Nursing Program

Published

Hello!!

I've noticed that there was not a thread for the AVC Spring 2021 nursing program and I wanted to make one so that anyone can share their thoughts and to give encouragement to anyone who needs it.

I've personally used a previous thread (AVC Fall 2020) which helped me figure out what I needed to do before I entered the program and the thread answered any questions that I had.

So don't be shy, ask any questions. If you have any questions for me I'd love to answer them. I hope all the best for everyone.

Sincerely,

TotallyARealNurse

Congratulations!

I haven't received an email yet. IDK if I should assume that means I didn't get in. I am sure acceptances are going out first and then denials. =/

Congrats to those who got in so far though! Thats exciting!

Denials get received by mail. Keep your head up! Yours may be coming! I was right there last semester. Didn’t get accepted ? BUT just makes sure you use that as motivation for next semester! Do everything you can to boost yourself up some points and apply with confidence in the fall!

Last semester I only had 60 points. And cried my eyes out when I got the denial letter. So I went back and studied even harder for the TEAS and was able to get 5 extra points to get to 65 points. But still cried afterwards because I didn’t think it was enough. Don’t give up! Keep pushing. If you don’t already have your CNA certification get it! That definitely boosted me up. You will get there. Do not give up!

Yeah, I know what it is. I had talked to quesada about it when I did my ED plan. I have my CNA cert but there was an issue with my application with the state and they were so backed up that they didn't update my certification number in time before I submitted my app to AVC. I gave them my school completion letter along with my state board results that showed I passed everything but quesada did say that final decision would be up to the nursing department. So, it was a risk I took. I am assuming that my stuff wasn't enough proof and I wasn't given the extra points. With my cert I was at 65 points and w/o 55 points. =/
