AVC 2021 Spring Nursing Program

Posted

Hello!!

I've noticed that there was not a thread for the AVC Spring 2021 nursing program and I wanted to make one so that anyone can share their thoughts and to give encouragement to anyone who needs it.

I've personally used a previous thread (AVC Fall 2020) which helped me figure out what I needed to do before I entered the program and the thread answered any questions that I had.

So don't be shy, ask any questions. If you have any questions for me I'd love to answer them. I hope all the best for everyone.

Sincerely,

TotallyARealNurse

Thank you for making this! I’ve been waiting for someone to. I take my TEAS on Thursday. I’ve been studying all Summer long, so I’m a bundle of nerves! But I can’t believe apps are due so soon! Here’s to all of us hopefully getting in!

They changed the application due date to Oct. 1 this year! A little more time to get it put together!

Good luck! I'll also be applying for the Spring!

Does anyone know if the office is open? I need to pick up the enrollment packet. I’ve tried calling multiple times and haven’t been able to reach anyone.

It’s not open but you can download the application and mail it in (according to --------------------) from the Avc RN website.

I just saw your reply to me on the other page as well. Thank you so much!

No worries! Good luck!!

Hi, thanks for stating this thread. I am applying for the Spring as well. Good luck everyone 🙂

Has anyone had any trouble getting a ED evaluation? I sent transcripts and they obviously haven't inputted the transcripts yet and its getting down to the wire for me

If you’re talking about the education plan that gets created by quesada, maybe try sending her pictures of unofficial transcripts? Pre-COVID, I initially showed her print outs of unofficial transcripts because I still had access to my other school accounts. She referenced those docs I think as well as what I had on file with the school. Hope it can all work out!!

Anyone want to share how many points they are applying with? How you did on the TEAS?

Hi guys, I just sent in my packet today. Anyone else apply and know when we should be hearing back? Does anyone know the cut off points?

Thanks

I snooped the last few semesters threads and it seems that they generally send out letters for Spring around Thanksgiving. No idea when they’ll be doing it this year though due to the application extension and the Spring semester starting in January this year compared to February in the past. Plus they sent out fall acceptances like a month later than usual due to Covid, so who knows when we’ll find out 😞

I’m applying with 70 points. I got an 89.3 on the TEAS.

The fall semester only accepts 40 students and this last groups lowest points were 65.
The Spring cohort accepts 60 students and the cut off for last years was 55 points.

I got an 82 on my TEAS and am applying with 65 points.

I got an 84 on TEAS (my second attempt) and am applying with 75 points. Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone contacted the nursing department to confirm they've received the application?

On the TEAS, I got a 92. My total points for the application is 65 points. I looked at previous threads and some expressed that acceptances seem to be based on total points. What do you guys think?

Also, good luck to everyone applying!

@nursinglife661 When I asked ------------------- if I should email her to see if she received my application, she said she will email me. I haven't received an email from her yet, but I tracked my mail and was notified that it arrived Monday.

@Hopefulformyfuture I didn't realize Spring 2021 nursing would start early. Did they announce it on the website? With that being the case, are you guys prepping for anything beforehand (e.g. gathering certain documents they might ask for, looking over any study materials)?

@Lotus-bukad I also tracked my application and it arrived on Monday as well! And from my understanding, acceptances are based only on total points. As for the Spring semester starting early, AVC is changing the school year calendar to have Spring semesters start in January instead of February, starting next semester (Fall semesters will still start in August). I received an email about it a few months ago, and if you look at the Spring semester start date on the website, it says January 11th. I haven’t started prepping yet though. Good luck to you as well!

I also tracked my application. Any word on when we should be hearing from them about acceptance? And does anyone know if next semester is virtual learning at AVC?
