AVC RN FALL 2023

U.S.A. California

Published

Hello, I thought I’d start this forum for any students with questions, planning to apply to AVC’s Fall RN 2023.
I currently have 45 points overall and still have yet to take the TEAS. My goal is to get at least an 82% so I can get the 20 points to increase my points to 65. Other than that, I’m not sure how else to raise my points since I don’t have any other certification. I know Spanish but I don’t have anyone to sign the form for it…

Does anyone know what the first semester of the LVN to RN program is like?  I know we have to take a course in the Summer and then we join the 3rd semester RN students in the fall. The nursing counselor said we meet like 8 times and they just kind of gauge where we are with our skills. But im wondering what they are going to test us on?

Interesting, I was told something a little different by the counselor that I spoke with...that we meet more than that for the sumner session, like 3-4 days a week. But, I have gotten the wrong info from counselors before, so I'm planning on 4 days a week in the Summer and if it only ends up being 2-3 days a week, hey that'll be a nice surprise LOL. But, I'll also ask the nursing dept right away for clarification on days expected for the Summer session, if I'm accepted into the program.

I do know that fall semester we meet 4 days a week, not sure how many days it is for the rest of the program.

Yeah that sounds more realistic. I was hoping for just 1 day of clinical and 2 days of lecture. Now that my application is in there's nothing to do but nervously wait and think of a million questions ?

Hello! I have a question I've been trying to schedule my TEAS but psi keeps having technical issues. I know applications are due on March 1st. I turned everything in but the TEAS, do they not accept the TEAS after the due date? ?

Unfortunately, I don't think they do. You could maybe ask the nursing counselor to see if there is a way but I feel like they're strict with the deadline.

Yea I figured the same thing, but thankfully ATI was able to schedule to take the test at home on March 1st at 9am, I just hope they will let me turn it in before 2 pm ? I'm still going tomorrow to ask, thank you for answering!!

I'm sure they'll accept it. Wishing you the best of luck on your TEAS!!

I applied to the LVN to RN bridge. With the new point system how many points does everyone have? Waiting to see if you get in is so hard.

72 points for me. And I don't know if you know, but we probably won't find out until mid April. Even though I know this I keep checking my email 2-3x a day anyway LOL

I applied to the general RN program with 70 points. I'm kinda nervous about the new point system too.

Has anyone received an email saying they've started reviewing applications yet?

I heard that we should hear something in mid-late March...so anytime now. We should get an acceptance or denial email sometime in mid April. Orientation will probably be in late April/early May.

All I know is that this wait SUCKS.

I received an email saying they received the vocational nursing application but I turned in the application for registered nursing. So confused.. I emailed them back to make sure they have the right application from me. Hopefully I didn't turn in the vocational nursing app.

also the email said we'd know late April early May , we'll for the vocational nursing. Not sure about the RN program
