Hi everyone! I’m currently a student at AVC wanting to apply to the LVN Program for next fall. I know it’s a bit early to make this topic since the applications for next year aren’t available yet and the classes for this fall’s program hasn’t started.
I actually created this topic because I wanted to discuss about the requirements needed for this program. I have already done all the coursework that is stated in the application except that I currently am not holding any degrees. What I wanted to know is if I would be able to get into the program by just submitting my high school and AVC transcript along with my Education plan with those completed courses without any degrees. Also, if anyone knows, what is the minimum amount of points to get in?
Other than that, feel free to use this topic to ask any questions or to voice any concerns you guys might have about the program. Some things may be confusing for some people so let’s help each other out! ?

Why do you think it may be incomplete?
I emailed a counselor to see what I can do to improve my chances next year.
Well I’m thinking that it could be bc my ED plan wasn’t updated with my nutrition and I think physiology course (bio 202) being complete. I met with the counselor end of last fall so I was still taking physiology and took nutrition at coc during Winter semester and didn’t think I need to update the ED plan since she created an ED plan for me last fall for this.
the thing is I turned in my coc transcripts and avc transcripts with my application so I didn’t think it would’ve been an issue bc the transcripts themselves show I completed those courses. But maybe the counselor needed to look at my coc transcripts to write down that the course is equal to the nutrition required for the program.
Not sure but I’m definitely gonna try and apply again next year if I don’t get in this year. I may even apply to the RN program too since I have the time to take micro in the fall.

From what it sounds like and I agree regarding it should have been noted on the transcripts. I was assured that they coordinator and whoever else helps with grading the applications really look at everything as a whole because I was worried about how my associates and CNA status would get overlooked since the counselor didn't put it on my ED plan. I really hope they did take their time looking everything over because we sure took our time getting everything together and sent over.
I am bummed for us, but really do believe everything happens at its own time.
Yes, take micro and apply to the RN program! Apply to both if you can!
Best of luck and maybe our paths will cross again in the future!

I love that! Yes, everything will happen at the perfect timing. Everyone’s life path will eventually lead us to where we are meant to be. I strongly believe this. ?
Im on the waitlist for micro in the fall but I’m not really worried since it’s still early. and best of luck to you too and everyone who applied or looking to apply.
