AVC LVN FALL 2020 ADMISSION

LVN program at AVC

Published

Hi there! I know I am a little early on creating this article, but I am planning to apply for the the AVC LVN program for Fall 2020 admission. I was told applications will be available December 2019 and will be accepted the beginning of the year. Curious to see if anyone else is interested in the same program or if there's anyone that has already been through the process?

Hi, I just made a username so I can post. I don’t think so. Do they do AVC LVN applicants first spring 2020 too or no? I’ve been trying to get ahold of them but they don’t answer their phone.

From what I was told a week ago when I spoke to them, they only admit for the Fall! So the next application will be available this December at their office for Fall admission! Application will be due some time in February and accepted applicant will be mailed a letter in May

Ah I see! That I did not know. It’s all the waiting game here then. It’s first come first serve or is there a waiting list? I read somewhere something about that but I’m not sure.

I will also be applying to College of the canyons RN program, Los Angeles county RN, Pasadena LVN program, CES college LVN, and Marian college of nursing.

at this point it’s so competitive to get in, I just wanna be in a nursing program to get a jump start on my career. Good luck to you too!

Hi I'm also applying for the vn program. Best of luck. Do you know how is the selection criteria?

Did you pick up the application? I feel kind of bummed out they are doing the selection criteria based of points. If I had all the classes I would be applying for the RN program instead of the LVN program.

I haven’t picked up the application yet they won’t even return my calls

You can just walking in the office and pick one up

I won't be applying anymore because I was told by a counselor (when I was getting the education plan for the program) that if you don't have addition sciences (like Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, etc), then you're chances of getting in is very slim because of the point system.. After learning that, I decided am just going to wait and do the ADN or RC program. Best of luck everyone!

I think this is so stupid it's asking for the same classes as the RN program. I honestly think its unfair they did that. Someone told me they changed it because of some many students not being able to pass their biology class the first time around and they wanted to give those students an opportunity to eventually become RNs by bridging from LVN to RN. Honestly if you can't pass biology the first time around what makes you think you can do good during the nursing program

I agree!! Its ridiculous. I honestly was only interested in the program because I assumed it would get me in the door quicker with my career since I just recently changed career paths.. but if those classes are desired then what's the point, why not just wait and get into a program that you'd be making double the salary? The only science I have is chemistry (not even a prerequisite of the program) and thought I was only missing biology since I have all the other prereqs. After I was told that.. I didnt even mention that I have my AA in Communications (not sure if they give you points towards that or not) because I thought it wasn't even worth anymore!

I’m still gonna apply I just haven’t gone to a counselor yet. Do you need to be cna certified? I’m having trouble looking at their criteria on my phone for some reason.
