Nursing Students School Programs

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

Do I have to talk to anyone about taking the HESI during my last prerequisite? And about castle branch Should I do that after I do my HESI? Thanks in advance ??

No you don't have to talk to anyone prior to taking the HESI. You should sign up for a Castlebranch account asap to make sure you have all required immunizations and forms signed. There are directions on ACCs website how to set up the Castlebranch account. ?

Hey guys! So I'm a little early, but I'll be applying for the Spring 2021 class.

I just have a question about immunization? I can't quite find my immunization records and it seems like Castle Branch is giving people a hard time with their vaccines. I do remember getting most (if not all) of my vaccines when I was a kid. I might go ahead and get my titers done just to be safe. Did anyone have trouble with Castle Branch approving their immunizations? How soon should I start worrying about vaccines and such?

I would cut to the chase and get your titers done. I used my titers for the most part and didn't have an issue. I needed the entire Hep B series and it took two months so do it early!

Anyone else having trouble finding shoes that meet the dress code? They need to be all white or black or grey but no mesh or canvas. I don’t want to wear clogs, so does anyone have any suggestions on tennis shoes that meet these requirements?

The book said mostly white so I went with Adidas Advantage. They are leather and have a nice cushy insole. I tried on New balance I liked, but not as much as the Adidas. I've heard folks also like sketchers, Brooks, Hoka one one, nurse mates, and Reebok leather sneakers.

Clove just released some really nice all white shoes that I wanted but they sold out quick.

Hey,

I'm wondering if all campuses have the same clinical sites? EVC and RRC, which sites do ya'll have?

Cornerstone, Encompass RR, St. David's NAMC are the ones I can remember.

I don't think we have the same sites.

Ahah so we don't ? We're at Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, Texas Neurorehab, Marbridge Villa and a couple others.

How long has it taken everyone to receive their drug test results? that's the last thing on our list
