Are there opportunities for overseas new graduates in NY? There is a chronic shortage of new graduate places here in Australia and I'm interested in living and working in the US. I've heard the pay is a lot better, is this still true in the current financial situation? Or is the shortage just as bad in the US?
I am about to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Any information offered will be greatly appreciated.

Just take the time to read some of the forums especially the general nursing forum and you will see many new grads struggling to find work.
As a International nurse it will even be harder and depending on which route you are planning on working in the US will depend on whether you need experience or not. E3 i believe you need experience and GC will take several years due to retrogression. H1b is also a specialist visa
Also suggest you check out the international forum under the region tab above
