Hello guys hopefully applicants will find this post and be able to connect. I'll start by saying GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE!

It's just a matter of the SON and the office of admissions and the dean to all sign off on things, and sometimes it takes a while. We do not have to take the GRE if our GPA is higher than a 3.4 I believe (maybe 3.2?)
Pre-licensure?
I am excited to say I got accepted to the Athens campus! So, I'd really like to hear from someone that's gone through the program. What is a typical schedule like each semester? I know it's advise not to work but that is impossible for me as I do have children to support and a household. Please fill me in on what each semester can consist of on a day to day schedule. I'd just like to get a real idea so I can make a decision whether to drop to PT or prn my current position. I already work at a hospital as a clinician and can pull some weekend options, nights...etc. Thanks so much in advance!

Congrats. Welcome to the first journey of your nursing career. Here are some details that you asked for. You will get more during the orientation. It is a hybrid program. You have both online and in-person classes. Classes are held once per week for the whole day (8-5). The other days are dedicated to labs, clinicals, skill-check off... You will have your weekend "off" for the first three semesters. The first semester is a walking phase- not many clinicals and tests are far apart. The second semester is the running phase- frequent clinicals, tests, and papers. The third semester is a sprinting phase- a lot of stuff happen within a short time period. The last semester has 400 clinical hours, classes, and job interviews. Can you work? Yes, I've seen classmates who worked part-time throughout the program (usually on the weekend). Is it recommended? Highly no. This is a fast pace graduate program that requires a lot of time, energy, and commitment. Can you work prn and maintain a good GPA? It varies between each individual student. Clinical sites? TBD by campuses. Are there school resources that can help me? Yes, plenty. Is it worth it? 200% YES!

Thank you so much for breaking it down for me!! This was exactly what I needed to hear. I am ready to take out loans for living expenses if needed and use all resources if not possible, but it's always nice to hear about what semester might be manageable to maintain some work and not have to fully do loans for the whole program!! But since it's not my first rodeo with these types of fast pace prelicensure programs, I've learned what to do and what not to do. I understand it's all about time management, and yes, there just isn't enough time in the days...but when there is a will, there's a way!! Thanks again!

You're welcome. There are faculty and student mentors that can help you navigate through the program. Congrats once again.

Congratulations!! Did you find out via email or postal mail? Also, when did you receive your decision letter? I also applied and have been nervously waiting, with everything that’s been going on it seems like forever. Also what We’re your stats if you don’t mind me asking? Can you please share your GRE score and GPA. CONGRATS again!!
