Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello Everyone! Is anyone here planning to apply to AU MSN/CNL program for Fall 2019? Also, is anyone here who is currently in the program? Too bad the forum doesnt let me PM yet to users. [h=1][/h]

Hi. I'm from the current class of 2019. I was in your shoes last year and I know that feeling. If you have any questions, please post it here and I'll try to help. Good luck to y'all, future AU MSN CNL 2020 students.

Cool!

So, how's it going? How's the pace? Have you or anyone in your class tried NRSNG.com (or other external resources)? I was curious if it helps or related to the material.

Thanks!

It's going well. The pace is fast. There are a lot of reading and online modules. Professors from both campuses are very helpful.TBH I haven't heard/tried nrsng.com until now. We are still recovering from the fees on testing software and books.

Hey so I do have a few questions I have a 3.19 GPA I have a lot of community service but nothing as far as healthcare experience I am trying to volunteer at a nursing home currently but do I have a chance? My GRE goal is 305-310

Wow...

Well as you are going through it and IF are curious, let me know what you think of NRSNG.com or any other resource your group finds valuable.

Every little bit helps.

As for your fees, "ouch." Out of curiosity, how bad are those fees and books outside of tuition? And, where do y'all find parking most convenient?

Oh, didn't realize we'd be on both campuses. I just figured health sciences. Interesting!

Okay, I'll stop pestering now. I just can't get enough inside information. It's the real deal!

Thank you!

I think the waiver cut off is 3.25 for the GRE or MAT.

I would write Emily an email and ask her. She has been super helpful and honest with my questions. Plus she's the Program Manager.

Personally, I think you'd be fine, if you can sway them during the interview.

Thanks! Need all the encouragement and advice any tips on the interview process?

I would say yes. The program looks at you as a whole. Your GPA might be lower than other, but there are things that make you stand out. I would try to tell them that on your application and during the interview. Most of my classes didn't have healthcare experience but that didn't stop us. Focus on the positive thought and focus on your application. Lastly, don't forget to take a deep breath. That's right- breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Everything gonna be alright. It's part of the journey.

The fees aren't bad but they're just a lot. I'm in the Athens campus. We have livestream lectures with the Augusta cohort. And I don't know about Augusta campus parking situation. You can ask them during the tour. For Athens, parking is free.

Be yourself. Tell them about you. I would get a full night of sleep. Eat a healthy breakfast or lunch. Review the CNL package that Ms. Emily sent you. Lastly, take a deep breath. You can do it.

Thank you for taking the time to really post on here! I have some questions for you as well!

So you do see people with low GPAs within the program? I don't have any healthcare or volunteer experience but have leadership, corporate and 6 years of customer service experience. I've always heard it's about how you sell yourself in your personal statements as well but every program is different. Please help.

I don't usually ask about people GPA because it's not my personal business. And your experience will help you standout among your peers. Leadership is one of the important quality. After all, it's a clinical nurse leader program. I think it'll help you tremendously. Yes sell yourself. They look as you holistically. I ran out of time during my interview because I couldn't stop talking about myself. Make sure you have some questions for them too. Good luck.

SUPER helpful, thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
