Augusta U- MSN/CNL- Fall 2018 Entry

Published

I don't see a group yet started for admission to the Fall 2018's Augusta U MSN/CNL program. I have read through the forum of the Fall 2017 group and it seems to have been very informative!

I am excited once this group starts getting some members, so we can discuss the process (and adventure?!) of applying and finishing pre-reqs!

I am a second career applicant who works full time as an office assistant to two MDs and 1 BSN now. I have previously been a CNA and worked as a PCT in a small rural hospital on the med/surg floor, but then went on to get a BA in English from UGA. After having been an assistant for 4 years and out of school for quite a few more, I am excited about starting this RN program and still question why I didn't do this from the beginning :-) Oh well, I feel I have a lot of real world experience now and I am a much better learner then before! I have four pre-reqs left. A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, and Human Development. I am planning on trying to CLEP the Human Development course this fall. Currently in the waiting process for acceptance into the Perimeter Campus of Georgia State University to start the other courses.

Looking forward to talking with all of you!

I also have a lot of healthcare experience. And plan on retaking my GRE...but I am going to go ahead and submit my application soon and when I take the last prerequisite needed, I make an A my Gpa will be a 3.2 (3.18 actual gpa) and my prereq gpa will be a 3.45

I currently live in middle Georgia and will be relocating once accepted into the CNL program.

My Current Stats...

3.36 GPA

MBA Healthcare Administration

BBA Management/ Economics

GRE: Testing In December

Essay: Will be finalized Novemeber 21

Application will be submitted Jan 15.

Fall2017: Microbiology (A), Chemistry (B), and A&P1 (A)

Spring2018: I will finish the remaining prerequisites

Thank you!

undergrad GPA 3.82

Grad gpa 3.87

GRE 302 (wasn't thrilled with this, both my kids had strep and I hadn't slept! But felt like it was probably good enough to proceed with)

I have taken stat, human development, & psych all with A's. I am in A&P1 now and anticipate an A. Will be taking the remaining 3 sciences in spring and summer!

CNLtobe, I think with your experience and degrees, you are in a good position! I'm not sure exactly about previous years GPAs but I know there are discussions on this forum from the last 2-3 years of applicants that you could look through!

Specializes in NICU.

Has anybody received an interview for the main campus?

Specializes in NICU.
Ah I got invited for an interview! Received the email yesterday for interview 10/20 in athens.

Amnicole- I didn't even notice that part haha, so I didn't fill it out.

Congratulations!!!

- I already have a Master's degree. Can the GRE/MAT requirement be waived for me?

No, we require all applicants to have a GRE or MAT test score on file that has been completed within the last five years.

Has anyone heard anything yet?

Hey, guys.

Just wanted to chime in on my timeline so far to relieve some of your anxiety.

I submitted my application on 9/6. Transcripts verified on 9/26 (I think mine took so long because I had 3 different universities to verify). Contacted for an interview on 10/11. Interviewed in Augusta on 10/20. I was told that it could be around 6 weeks before I receive a letter saying yes or no.

Good luck to everyone!

Hello! Thanks for that info! I am going to have my application submitted by mid November! If you don't mind me asking..what are your stats?

Has anyone chosen to do the professional transcript entry? I know it takes up to 10 business days for them to input your transcripts in for you but I'm trying to figure out the average time.
