Has anyone applied to Augusta Tech's ADN program for Fall? I can't wait to find out who's been selected; the anticipation is probably going to kill me.
Hey guys I gave everything to one of your class mates last week for free :/ I was so tired of having everything lying around and I know how it feels to be a broke nursing studentSorry about the PM thing not working for you. I'll check into it and make sure it's nothing going on on my end!
And congrats to you all!! Work hard study and it will pay off in the end! And if you ever need advice, a pep talk, whatev's I'm always on here and willing to chat.
Is that you Katie? It was me you gave them to and I am soooooo appreciative!!!
If you got in and are waiting for an email like I was, you prob aren't going to get anything other than an official acceptance letter telling you to contact Terry Richardson and he asks you to come in and pick up the background/drug screen and physical paperwork, which I did today. There is an awful lot of expensive things on that to do list, whew!
When Registering for the classes it says there was 35 spots, but only 5 left, so I'm assuming all but 5 that are going to be accepted have been told and have registered already.
Good luck again to everyone!
I havent heard anything yet. I am assuming that you re-took your classes that you didn't do well in in the summer or fall of 2014, and made it into the first ranking? I would be a part of the second ranking BC I was still finishing my core this spring. Do you happen to know when orientation will be? I'm trying to plan a vacation but don't want to until I know orientation won't be that week.
Exact day/times of orientation are:
aug 11 8am-4pm
aug 12 8am-12pm
aug 13 8am-3pm
Bldg 1000 tiered classroom 1st floor near elevator.
must be there during all the times listed
[h=1]@kskarzin91[/h]Now that you have graduated, did you find it hard to apply for jobs since Augusta Tech is not nationally accredited? Do you plan on doing rn-bsn, and if so, what schools did you think about/have applied to? I have read that most in our area will only take graduates from an accredited program. Thank you for your time :)
To those that pick up your packet, was it just the Clinical Forms that need to be filled out and returned during orientation? I went to pick mine up today and that was all that was given to me. Also, I dont have health insurance, so I signed up for short term coverage to last through the end of the year (so i can sign up again for open enrollment). Hopefully that is enough to cover me and fulfill requirement number 11.
Did anyone have any recommendations or go to places for dental, physical, and titers? I was thinking about going to the health dept. for titers, and there's a dentist I know that will do an examination for about $45. Not sure where or who to see about a physical other than the minute clinic in CVS in North Augusta. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the dental, physical and drug/background check stuff is all I got. And yes to returning at orientation. I couldn't believe all the things on that list
I don't have any health insurance either, so this is gonna be a huge kick in the wallet for me. I'm gonna wait until closer to august to sign up for short term coverage as well. I've looked really hard into insurance and all I could find was the cheapest was $80-$100 and that covers nothing at all before a $10,000 deductible and was told flat out that only covers if you have a huge medical emergency that it keeps you from going bankrupt and that's it. I really don't want to pay 100$+ a month to get nothing! We're students and can't really work during this program, it's really going to hurt a lot of the program.
I checked at the health department and they cost more than the urgent care places to get those things done, it was crazy! I went to Christ Community Health Services Augusta :: Proclaiming Christ as Lord and demonstrating His love through health care for my physical, titers, and immunizations. They have a sliding scale fee for people who don't make much money. I thank god I found this place otherwise it would have been upwards of $400+ to get all that done anywhere else. But for my physical and titers and all immunizations I was able to get for $150 total.
They have one dentist there as well but a very long waiting list, so I can't go there for that. I'm going somewhere else. haven't been able to find a cheap affordable dentist yet, if you find one let me know. I need a cleaning as well, not just exam.
Thats all the advice I have!
