Work wasn't bad yesterday, though a little busy in the afternoon.  Was feeling down much of the day for no apparent reason, felt better by the end of the day.  Rest of the day was quiet, exercised and practiced knitting

Tonight have a Zoom meeting with a group I may volunteer for.

J is feeling better, and his elderly friend who had the stroke is out of the hospital

Will be another  fairly nice day,  will get up to 80

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.  Glad J is feeling better.

Wasn't sleeping good and trying mindfulness counting back from 100 and breathing when I heard SlowBro retching on the comfortable so I had to get up and deal with that.  He eat a good breakfast.  He's just delicate sometimes.

Have the air conditioner tune up this morning sometime between 8 and 10 AM and feel relatively unmotivated but have stuff to do around the house and hope to make a yoga class.

Have a great day!

Hello all!

Joe, good that work has been better.  What group are you thinking of volunteering for?  We will leave tomorrow (Wednesday), around noon.  Campers may arrive after 4pm on Wednesday.

Tweety, it's always disconcerting to hear a pet retching. ?  (cats do it frequently, mostly for hairballs)  Hope you can make that yoga class.

Today I slept in, because I was awake from 2:30 to 5:30. ?  Oh well.  I have to do the grocery shopping and then bake pies.  Oh, and do a load of laundry, and then pack.

Have a good day!

Good day, all! Stayed home from work yesterday feeling a bit iffy with a sore throat. Twin A was having similar symptoms. Much better today.

From about 5:30 to 11:30 pm last night stepson lit up my phone with somewhere around 150 (or more) texts. All show his thinking to be disordered, paranoid, and grandiose. He says he has an appointment with his psychiatrist tomorrow. I sure wish I knew who that doctor is because I think he/she needs to see these texts. But without someone getting legal authority to force him into treatment it won't happen. Hubs is not wanting to get involved. Says he's got too much on his plate as it is. And even if he were to get admitted to the hospital, if he refuses medication then nothing will change. I am having a hard time standing by.

Another 100 degree day but they keep promising us cooler weather. And rain.

Tweety, hearing a pet retching will get me moving pretty fast. Was disgusted the other day after stepping on a hairball then finding where the cat had puked on the windowseat. Stepson has a dog and 2 cats and I'm worrying about them, too. The house will be trashed. But I must stop dwelling on this.

Hi. Another nice day, 75 now, will likely reach 80 or 85. I had a nice ride around the bay, but traffic is getting heavier and lots of walkers and other bikers to dodge. I get nervous in traffic as stopping quickly is usually when I fall. I got a letter from the car insurance with some forms to fill out, and a letter that said to call when I got it and the agent will walk me through it. So I called and she's on vacation. Someone filling in gave me contradictory info, so I guess I'll call again next week. I did some yard work before it got too hot, and cleaned up the kitchen. dh is away for an overnight, and I'm a little relieved. I feel like I can't say peep around him or risk getting another lecture on "my tone." And I am so sick of deciding what will be eaten for dinner. And then hearing about what was wrong with it. I think tonight's dinner will be popcorn.

Annie, So sad to hear about your step-son. I hope he can realize he does need help, and that he can cooperate with the needed care.

Hubby said yesterday that he thinks he may need to go to a rehab place as an in-patient. (!) Tomorrow at 1 PM is his appt. and when I reminded him about it, he said he thought it was on Thursday. Nope, it's on the calendar, and he is not going to get away with 'forgetting' THIS appointment! I still intend to go with him.

Nannie slept like a log ALL morning! Hubby woke her up around noon, told her to come out to the den to sit in her recliner, gave her the AM meds with a sandwich, chips, and fruit cup for lunch. After that, she napped some more. When I woke her up just before hubby got home with supper, she said, "Boy, it sure is cloudy out there this morning." Then to confuse Nannie further, supper was eggs and sausage, hash browns and toast. Aaaannnndddd, once again she has dozed off after eating.

In 1/2 hour I will turn on the news (gnus), then the 2nd Braves/Mets game will start around 7:15. Yesterday Nannie did sleep through parts of the game, maybe she will again tonight....and go to bed early like she did last night!

It must be Springtime! The front lawn has been covered with robins today! It is nice, 73 degrees, so what a pleasant change it is!

I wasn't much motivated to do anything today, either, Tweety. (And I most certainly did not go to hot yoga!)

I asked hubby to PLEASE not poke at Nannie's upper arm or thunk on her chair with his foot tonight. Sometimes she laughs about it, but when he just teases and teases that way, and she gets irritated and tells him to stop, he won't. I don't think it is "fun" and he knows better than to tease at me like that. I don't want to get in the middle of their squabbling while it is going on, so I don't say anything. But tonight I have mentioned it to him, and will remind him again after I get HIM up from his after-supper nap. Bunch o' Nappers 'round here, doncha know!  Nannie's reason for frequent sleeping is her age, but his excuse is the vodka and he is DEPRESSED. He'll say, "I don't know how much more of this I can take." Wish I had a rich uncle leave me a fortune, or I would win a sweepstakes, because if that was the case, Nannie would  be in a nursing home so fast it would take her at least a week to un-coil after the speed of the trip.

And now it's time to watch the world-wide going to hell in a hand-basket.

I just spent an hour looking at kitten/cat and puppy/dog videos on Youtube, and pets reunited w/ their owners after a long separation (for whatever reason). So sweet, it all gave me a bunch of smiles and a few giggles and even some almost-tears. (a camel, hugging its owner with it's neck wrapped around his torso).

Made me miss having a pet, but glad at this point in our lives, NOT to have the additional responsibility. But oooh wouldn't I love to snuggle a four-footed furry love-bug! *sigh*

Ado, I hope your stepson agrees to treatment.  Agree, it is hard to stand by (especially as, getting all those texts, you are DRAWN into the drama!).

nursej22, I am happy for you, that you are getting some alone time.  Popcorn sounds good!  Hope the insurance ppl come through with a good plan and quote.

No Stars, fingers crossed that your dh will keep his appointment (I'm sure he will, if you are going with him!!).  What a combo, between him and Nannie...  Keep going, girl!  Do what you can, and take time for you.

Well, I got all I needed to at the grocery store, and after lunch I baked four -- count 'em, FOUR! -- Fruit of the Forest pies.  Then, as the oven was hot and the neighbor gave us some garden zucchini, I baked a crustless quiche, and now am making a cabbage/potato/soy sausage "soup" (which usually turns out more like a stew).  We will bring all these for eating while at the festival.  Dh tested one of the pies, and pronounced it better than the last one I'd made!  They weren't as watery, and flavor is good, crusts turned out OK (yay!).   On Friday, at a jamming compound, they hold a pie-tasting, in honor of a bluegrasser who recently died (stroke).  Anyone can bring a home-made pie, and it's a $5 donation, and you can taste all the pies you want.  I am bringing one of the four pies for this event (hope it survives through Friday.  I don't have an oven in the RV, so would not have been able to bake pies there, so had to bake them here).

I still need to do a few things, do a load of laundry, and (maybe) pack.

Have a good evening!

Annie, so sorry about your step-son.  I know it's hard to detach, especially when he texts you so much.
