Published

Hey I wanted to start a thread for anyone going to AirForce 2012 COT

Specializes in ER.

Did u just find out today? I am still waiting to hear either way and I am getting nervous. I have what I believe to be good experience plus prior military.. Not sure what to think at this point... Do u mind sharing your experience and what u think they are looking for? I will tell u that I have had my BSN for 10 yrs, ER for 8, clinical instructor and prior active duty corpsman in the Navy for 5 yrs..

Any encouragement appreciated...

Thanks

Does anyone know the date we are finished with COT? Just trying to figure out if I'll be spending my 30th birthday with all of you fine people!! :-)

ERMags,

Hopefully we will get to do some kind of celebrating for your big 3-0! It will be nice to bring in your new decade/(our) new chapter in right. :-)

samm0705,

What kind of things would you like guidance/advice about? Have you commissioned yet?

I am apprehensive about COT, physical aspect of it and the massive amount of information we are expected to learn. I am waiting for scroll and background check. I signed my acceptance letter and did fingerprinting

For the physical part just exercise and run everyday or at least almost everyday. Make sure to review the the guidelines and what you need to pass. So that way you have at least a minimum goal for yourself. I'm working with a trainer and doing couch to 5k. Also, I try to do push ups and sit up at least 3 times a week. I think if you got thru nursing school, you can get thru this (as far as the amount of information we have to learn/know). What is your specialty?

I commissioned on 31st May. So I am working on exercising, getting the forms that I need filled out, visiting family/friends, and cleaning things I don't need/want.

I think we will be fine, it will just be an adjustment.

not commissioned yet. signed acceptance, did fingerprint. waiting for scroll and background check. Apprehensive about COT. Physical aspect mostly and large amount of info we are expected to recall.

sorry about repeating myself. wasnt sure it posted
