Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

CPR-basic life support

hiv/aids

prevention of medical errors

domestic violence

tb/osha

thanks so much, do they want the 1 hour or 4 hour hiv/aids course

also I'm confused about the background check, do we do it online or do we go to the fingerprinting place to complete it???

i would go with the four hr courses because if u took them in person at BC they would have been all day classes like 8hrs i think. better safe than sorry. An i believe we have to do both as far as the background check goes. It makes NO SENSE to me whatsoever but we have to do the online one and then the fingerprinting place in plantaion

Oh Lord!!!That's so complicated..

Anyone else planning on taking other classes while in the program? I am planning on taking two in the fall.

Omg I could never take extra classes with these classes... Don't forget you will have extra hours not listed that you will be required to attend. Such as we had mon thur class but had to be there m-f first 2 weeks... plus you have to fit lab hours when the lab is open. Which is not every day or evenings.

As far as background, you do one online and fingerprints in person.

I am having second thoughts about Broward's nursing program. Their graduation rate is very low and on every thread I visit, I read nothing but negative things about their program. This means If I failed at their program, it will be very hard to get into another one.

ok I'll take the 4hr one like you said better safe than sorry and thanks for the clarification and i agree 100% that makes no sense at all, but we have no choice so we have to pay for an online background check and fingerprints???

I was suppose to start in May and I did all CEU's online at broward college.i did all but CPR online. I got it all done in 2 days and received all my certificates for those classes within the week by mail.very easy..I would suggest doing it online from our school

The one online is just for employment verification and state background check. The one you do in person is fingerprints and they do a full back ground check. The CEUs I did them online through broward so I didn't have to wait and could do it immediately. It's quick power points and a quiz that shows up on d2l and you can have your certificate mailed or pick them up. You have time and I did it all in a semester with micro, college algebra, hcp class and a full time job. This is the easy part before the program even starts! It's not due yet just trying to get ahead don't panic !!! (; relax !

:-/ I already started doing them on CEUfast.com and I am able to print out the certificates as soon as I finish the test...a lot of previous students kept recommending ceufast.com

Yes that's a good site also for CEU's. A lot of people go online at broward college or ceufast fast.com.Atleast you are on your way and you will get CEU's done quickly
