Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?
If you ask me the points system sucks big time.. A&P 1 (A in lecture, A in lab); A&P 2 (B in lecture, C in lab); Microbiology (B in lecture, A in lab); ENC1102 (B); Statistics (A)... Yet, 8 points granted out of a possible 16.. It's like getting 50% on a test, which is an 'F.'[/quote']From previous posts it's my understanding that the points really don't matter. There has been people with less points than you that got in. Point system is pretty much pointless

But if it says...
Nursing Pre-Requisite Gpa1.00-16.00 13.00
Hesi Exam No points N/A
College Level Math CourseNo points N/A
That means the only way to obtain any points is through GPA? Or can you get more points via hesi and/or being a Broward resident I'm so confused at their point system and how they rank everyone.
The only way somebody can get point is by gpa and they do matter. The lady told me that once your gpa is higher than 2.5, you have a chance of getting in it depends on how many people applied. Anyway, let's forget about this point system and pray that our status will go from application in review to pre-admission.

You need math to be considered for admission and micro to graduate. That's it...

I'm surprised because she had told me a few days ago they didn't expect to look over applications until June.
