Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

Check out the nursing math thread on here: The Nursing Math Thread | allnurses

Thanks!

Hey, when did you guys get your syllabus?? We still haven't received ours yet and classes start in a week and 3 days.. They also didn't update our schedules, they still say TBA for room numbers and some professors (I'm attending North campus btw) :banghead:

Hi. I go to north as well. All the information you will need will be uploaded on d2l once the classes start. I recommend you print everything at once and have it with you... during campus lab days they expect you to have it. The class is the one the orientation was in. I think it's 221. Don't quote me(: good luck! I would get a head start and read the vital signs chapter. It's the first one you will have in lecture and lab. The best advice I could give is always read the chapter before the class. They're about 30 pages and just every day read. Even if it's 10 pages only. You will be always on top of things instead of catching up (:

THANK YOU!! My first day is lab so I hope they open up D2L soon so I can print everything. How is the math? That's what really has me stressed out right now (I've never been good with the metric system), the whole thing about only being able to miss one question has me super nervous :(

Math is not hard but you have to follow every single rounding rule there's on the sheet and everything that the teacher will tell you to do. Don't argue, don't talk about your old ways of resolving the problems even if you get the same answer. Use her way, know how to round and you should be fine. Your first lectures should be on Vitals, Health assessment, Nursing process, so go ahead and read as much as you can.

Thank you!!! Merry Christmas to you all, be safe :)

Finally breathing after this semester. I am repeating Process 2 myself as well. Killed Theory, and when it came down to the math test you get when Process 2 started for us: It was like watching a firing range, the way we dropped like flies. The test given was brutal (North and South Campus' can use calculators by the way). In any case, I will be going over all the material for Process 2 with a fine toothed comb. I did great on the tests so it doesnt scare me as much as Return Demo. i will Eat, Pray and sleep in the lab. Med Administration Demo is no joke! Merry Christmas, Happy New Years and good luck guys! You can do this! Breathe and do NOT give up.

Quick question, are there any color restrictions on the watches, penlights, and stethoscopes we're allowed to use for the program?

I really hope not, because I got everything in Pink :wideyed:
