Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

Hey guys (: I really love reading what you have to say! I just have a couple of questions if anyone can please answer them.

I am doing my prereqs right now.. I want to get in the August 2015 nursing program but the prereqs are so much that I feel like I wont make it. Right now, Im taking ENC 1101, Psychology, Philosophy & Chemistry for health sciences. But I am a little confused all you guys talk about is anatomy and stuff like that.. did you guys take psychology,philosophy and all those classes I just mentioned or am I taking them for nothing? Also, do you think I'll make it in when the program in August starts. I personally dont think ill make it because I need to take summer classes in order to finish everything, but summer classes end August 10th that wont give me enough time to apply, take the hesi, and take all those courses (CPR etc) . what do you guys think? I really dont want to wait till January 2016 thats more than a year away !!

Slow down. You only need A&P 1&2, with labs Chemistry for health sciences, ENC 1101 and micro to apply. Why are you taking Philosophy? Don't worry about when you'll get in, worry about actually getting in. Your workload is way too much. :/

Nursing prerequisites are needed before applying to the program. The additional courses are needed to graduate.

Your gonna need those classes and it wouldnt make sense to get in the program and then have to worry about fitting that in, while in an already hectic program. Take them now, then get ur CEU's out of the way right before u apply or after, its ur choice but before would be best, because u dont want to be stressed out before school even starts

Yes. ..i agree. Get your classes done that are required to graduate first. Make sure you start taking your science classes at the same time so you don't try and take those all together. Don't worry if it takes you a year. Make sure you look at the bsn requirements as well because you may be able to use some of those required classes to meet your requirements now and prevent taking even more classes in the future. You are going to have to come back and get that later.

I'll probably make it by January 2016 hopefully. Also, did you guys get your certificates from BC or ceufast.com ? I really don't know which one to do.

Hi all! For those of you who are in the program now....January 2015 class registration starts wednesday and id like to get some info on what time the classes are at. Early AM? Late PM?
