Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

How does it work? They say they're accepting applications until all seats are filled. Once it says application in review, they have probably already made a decision that we won't know until they start sending out acceptance letters.. Lets say a student submits his application with better Hesi scores and higher GPA, will they reconsider their decision and pick that student ahead of you? It's really confusing... It should be, 'accepting applications untill there are enough applicants.' If those applicants meet their criteria, they've IN..

application in review!!!!Let's pray more..

I guess I am wrong. No wonder why nobody mentioned that before. What about those students majoring in pharmacy? Perhaps trying to get an AA from Broward College... Don't they have to take Pharmacology..

There's different types of Pharm classes out there. This one is just specially designed for Nursing majors I believe. There probably might be a pharm class for gen education, never really looked lol.

Speaking of Pharm, so far I think that's the only class oriented mostly around memorizing information. Don't go crazy repeating this, but Dr K doesn't use the textbook lol. Everything is nicely explained in his lecture/PowerPoint. The class is mad easy for me personally atm. I just now refunded my textbook haha.

You're in the program now correct? Its good to hear that this course is easy (with that prof.), I've heard its a difficult course. Hows the program going for you so far?

Hello there! I, like most of u all, have been following this site for a few weeks now. Its great to read such helpful info. My question is, is it possible to take Pharmacology before entering the program? And good luck to all who's waiting for application news! =)

no you can't. I asked my advisor and he said no that i have to be in the program first.

Decisions won't be made until everyone is in the system that they have received so far. Since there is no hard deadline, they will review everyone who was received up until a certain date first, then continue reviewing in case they need more students. Hence, the acceptance until class is full part (yes, I asked a lot of questions when I called)

Current status: Denied- No HESI scores on file!

Taking the HESI this weekend so hoping to see application in review next week.

Nelly_XoX I didn't know they allowed testing on weekends what are the hours?

Nelly_XoX haha by June it will say pre admission!!

Yes, testing if offered Monday thru Saturday. Here's the schedule for May: http://www.broward.edu/studentresources/lrc/central/Documents/MAY-2014.pdf

Yeah, I'm in the May '14 group. Hmmm, I suppose it can be hard if you're not good with rote memorization or the level of math you'll need for Nursing before coming in(honestly just conversions and algebra).

Nothing really difficult so far. The first lecture test and lab demonstrations are next week, so I can't give a definite answer on the difficulty until then. There is definitely a lot of material to take in, but I'm not worrying too much about it.

Lol, fingers crossed that we all get pre-admission!!
