Hi everyone,
I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?
First two weeks will be both Tues and Wed. Then we will find out which ONE of those days will be our clinical day. Im assuming they will split us up into two smaller groups. I hoping I get Tuesday.
Does anyone know which day we will be assigned for clinicals on the central campus, Tuesday or Wednesday? Specifically online section..
I will take the pharmacology book. I will PM you.
No there is no writing. Just some highlighted pages like I mention before. No problem :). Just let me know how you would like to proceed to get the book. Wednesday I'm in clinical from 7A-7Pm so can't do it that day. But any other day I will be on campus. I attend South by the way.
Hello T-rahilito, I will be attending south... Any advice?
I have a couple but I will try to be brief.
1) Never ever be late! If you come 1 minute after your class is suppose to start you are late
2) Read the assign chapters before coming to class, so you are prepared to interact and ask questions about any topic you are not sure about.
3)Buy books on how to answer questions applying critical thinking. Because it's a learning process; BC will not teach you how to think critically. You will just get the exam and be shock if unprepared.
4) Keep in mind that you start preparing for nclex as soon as you start nursing school; so it is recommended to practice nclex questions related to the topic discussed in class.
5) The beginning is usually the hardest because you are not quite sure what to expect...it's fine just take a deep breath and remember you got this!
6) Don't take anything personal...you will have to adjust to people talking to you any type of way because they are above you...Deep breath and move on
7) Follow uniform policy and your socks have to be long ( way way above ankle) and yes they do check them
8) Be friendly to everyone and form a study group with people that are serious about studying
9) Math can be tricky so always double check your answer
10) If they say you need to bring something in clinical or class. BRING IT!
That's it for now lol I do not want to scare you :)
Welcome to BC Nursing school
