Hi everyone,

I've been a lurker on allnurses for years, and finally am finishing up school to move forward for my Associates at Broward. Unfortunately, they have totally thrown a monkey wrench in the pre-req requirements, and now I'm going to have to wait until Jan 2015 possibly to get into that program!!!!! I have all pre res done except for the new math, CHM and new Micro pre-req. This is devastating. I'm wondering though, is it possible to take the Micro and Lab in the summer and somehow slip in for the August 2014 program, or am i bananas?

is there anyone one here that is starting the nursing program in august 2014 and is going to the south campus leaving from the Lauderhill, or margate area. ??

Yes, I will be coming from Tamarac.

Wow..how long are the units ? if you could do it over would you have done the face to face class instead?

Did you do Hcp? I was thinking of doing it at Sheridan technical....I am not sure....what are your thoughts...

I am finishing up 2 Math classes and I have to take Hesi....did you take Hesi yet...i am trying to apply for Jan 2015

I took the HCP at Sheridan. I would recommend it!

Wow congrats!!! How was the journey leading up to gettting in?

One of my friends is in,she started in May. She is in process 2 now. She has a lot of positive things to say about the program as long as you put in the time! I know there have been many negative opinions about BC but my friends seems to think that these were people that just wanted it all on a platter. So if I can offer some encouragment it would be that BC turns out great nurses. I have another friend...he too went to BC and is now been working 2 yrs as a nurse. He said the program was hard but great!

You will do fine on the Hesi. Just make sure to study for a few weeks before you take it. They Anatomy is mostly physiology (at least mine was). And study the math from the Hesi book right before you go in.

I went by the South campus today to check it out because I have never been there. I saw a student in her nursing scrubs with the Fundamentals in Nursing book and decided to ask her some questions. Her you go:

Me: How do you like the program?

Her: Umm...

Me: You don't like it? Why because its hard?

Her: Well yes it is just that they are so strict. But I love my professors. They are great.

Me: Is it true that most people get C's?

Her: Yes because what makes it so challenging is that your entire grade consists of only three exams so you have to do well on all of them.

She is just finishing up process two.

My fellow South Campus students: Is it true that our schedule consists of 3 days of classes vs 4 like the North and Central? (I forgot to ask the girl this and I have my pre-admission meeting on Wednesday so I did not register for classes yet)

For those going to the south campus for orientation on July 16 at 9am. Have you guys done your ceu's or will u just wait til after the preadmissions orientation. what have u guys done or bought thus far, if anything.? I am so excited about Wednesday. :)

I took the core course at Sheridan which I am 99% sure takes care of all of this for me because it was part of the core course. (That's what my professor said) I have to look into it though to verify. BC never mentioned any of this to me. The only one I am missing is the new one.
