Hi everyone. Who all had to deal with the AG’s office? They are just now trying to contact me after 3 1/2 years!! I self reported to the board in February 2016 concerning my alcohol and opiate addiction. I haven’t heard back from the board yet. I dealt with DEA 3 yrs ago and had a good attorney- the DEA never went any further - no arrest or anything. So I’m wondering why the AG’s office is just now contacting me. My lawyer called the AGs office and no response yet and that was 2 weeks ago. I think if they were going to pursue any charges they would send a certified letter .

I have dealt with them..i recieved a letter stating the complaint against me. The AG office did an investigation at my former employer and ended up charging me with 9 felonies. They did not send a letter they sent an email saying i had a warrant out for my arrest. However before this i was contacted by an investigator who wanted to meet with me and i chose not to say anything but the investigation continued. Started in September and was charged in December so definitely not anywhere near 3 years. That seems kind of crazy.

Are you still keeping your license active? I was so overwhelmed with everything going on that I did not keep renewing. Basically because I received a 2 year suspension as a punishment and I really just didn't know what to do. I thought if it was suspended and if I had to apply to have it unsuspended, then why renew? I was upset, just didn't bother to clarify. It became null and void too, along with suspension, because of that.
The best way to describe the current system is, "the mills of God grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine." I think they act quickly with folks who attempt to work, but if you drop of the radar they get there when they get there.
I am only on the NPDB. If you go to the OIG website, you can look yourself up. Also know that you can apply to have your name removed, I've know several nurses who have had to do it.

WOW, how did you come out? Yeah 3 yrs is crazy!!!
Yes I’m active and working as. RN. How did everything turn out for you
@tiffpritRN i took a plea deal which gave me misdeameanor obtaining and posession charge. I havent been in front of board. I have probation with the state for 1 year. My license is active. I have been in monitoring since October 2018 so we will see what the board says after i report my conviction. Im in the NPDB not the OIG list as of right now. I cant believe you self reported and didnt hear anything from the board at least wanting you to do monitoring.
@tiffpritRN I wasn't suggesting I think you need monitoring btw, lol. I just think its crazy how after three years they want to come for you, there should be some sort of time limit. If they questioned me about my using three years later I dont think I would exactly have the best recollection of what happened. If you have been sober this whole time maybe you wont have to go through monitoring! That would be great. Anyway if you still have a lawyer I am sure they have told you not to say anything to the AG. They will investigate with or without you telling on yourself. :)
