CABON Now Requires SSN to apply for NCLEX.
Effective on April 26, 2010 California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) will no longer accept applications that do not contain a U.S. Social Security Number. The Nursing Practice Act provides for a unified examination and licensing application. Once an applicant passes the examination, a license is automatically issued. Under these circumstances the BRN cannot accept applications for the examination and licensure without a U.S. social security number.
For those applicants who have failed the exam and want to re-apply; CABON will not accept re-application without U.S Social Security Number.
If your application was sent prior to April 26, 2010 or if you are already eligible, THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU.
yes, if you pass your nclex now you have 3 yrs to give CA BON your SSN, since you are on petition you may get your SSN once you get to the US.
However, please do check really the time frame of your petition, you may check it at the website of USCIS, to know exactly when you may be approved to migrate to the US.
i DO NOT AGREE, you may have an SSN even if you are not a citizen.
the K-1 visa granted your wife first a conditional green card, that is why she has SSN, after 2 years she has to remove that condition from her green card so she could stay in the US.
a GREEN CARD does not mean that you are a US citizen, it simply means you may stay or work in the US.

This has been discussed several times, I don't think they will give extention but main way to find out is ask the BRN. You need to have a valid work/immigrant visa to be able to apply for a SSN

if they send you a mail with your return payment, it means they need your SSN....if not then wait for that eligibility first...if they did accept w/o SSN.
