Hello everyone, sorry this is my first post on here so I hope it's in the right topic category. I am currently an LVN in California and am interested in attending a nursing school in Florida (hybrid). I was accepted in a local program but it won't start until Fall 2023 and I am ready to be an RN already! My question is this: If I attend an non accredited nursing school but state approved in FL for ASN (RN). Will California allow me to apply for endorsement if the courses, pre-requisties, and clinical hours all meet CA BRN requirements? I have contacted the CA BRN and haven't received a definite answer on this. On the paper license by endorsment application it states "State Approved? Yes or No" but that's all that I can find. I've heard from others on here that if your school isn't accredited it can't transfer for endorsement.. so wondering if anyone has an answer to this. Thanks! (I should add that all my CA required general education courses were all completed at a regionally accredited CA University and that the non accredited ASN program in FL has an articulation agreement with an accredited University for RN-BSN, if that means anything!)
london - I would venture it's the school's headlining advertisement that just says it all by dripping & oozing the sweet magic words 'quick', 'easy' and 'licensed' that's the attention grabber. (Maybe inexpensive could be there too.)
That's exactly what the applicant wants to hear.
What I want to know is how OP feels 'ensured of passing NCLEX on the first go'???????

I feel ensured because I attended a previous accredited nursing program recently and completed 90% of the curriculum. I’m only taking 4 classes at CHC to complete my asn degree requirements. I would not go this route if I was a pre nursing student. As long as I am able to get my RN license in my state (which I’m certain of), obtain a job (which I’m certain of), and attend an RN to BSN program (they are affiliated with an accredited BSN program). I will be just fine.
Hi mya! I was thinking of joining Care Hope College in Jan 22. I was wondering how hard the program is? Did u have issues finding clinicals, was the Exit exam hard? And have you taken the NCLEX yet? I'm already an LVN from California, and I'm looking for ANY information from someone that has completed the program.

Please see other care hope college thread! I don’t want to type the same thing ?. You can write me on that thread with any other new thoughts/concerns after reading.

Here's a new thought...why did you not complete your previous program and why will CHC fix that?

Here's another new thought...why can't you help someone else who is interested in nursing and asks for your advice?
What if a patient asks the same question you answered for them one hour ago?

New question, did you pass the NCLEX? Did you graduate on-time? Do you recommend the school since you have finished the program?

I am so all for advancing education and wish things were easier for LPNs. Can I ask you WHY you are choosing this school curriulum or any other Florida nursing school with poor passing rates? If you have such good resources why didn't they help with the first school? Not being mean or argumentative, just I really want to know why these schools with poor passing rates, still attract students. I really what to understand the motivation to risk your time/money/effort to gamble for an ADN degree. I am asking this sincerely...Every month someone on AN reports they are going to Florida to take an LPN to RN course. Usually with poor pass rates. I am writing an article (no names if you wish) to explain this, motivation, cost, and convenience. Maybe you can tell me about your previous school too. Maybe we can wake up the ADN schools in other states if they see what LPNs need for an LPN to RN course of study.
I couldn't Agree more! I know this is an old post but listen up guys. These RN programs in Florida the problem state! Are Not concerned about your time, money, and effort that you are putting forth, nor do they care about not being truthful upon being approved in CALIFORNIA , so please take a look at this PDF post on the California board of nursing website . Read it and don't go on secondhand information or what someone tells you without showing you Proof!

I would not recommend a pre nursing student to get involved with sketchy FL programs. In my case, 90% of my core nursing courses were completed at a previous accredited ADN nursing school. That’s the ONLY reason why I feel comfortable enough to commit to this particular school. I did all of my clinical and NCLEX prep with my previous nursing school.
