Atlanta-area MSN students

Good morning!

I am undecided on any MSN degree or program at the moment, but was still wondering if there is anyone working on an online MSN degree with Chamberlain. I just recently found out that my current employer has a partnership with Chamberlain that would give me a 15% tuition discount each semester. So, this information has definitely peaked my interest and narrowed the playing field somewhat.

Now, if I could just hear testimonials or experiences from current or recently-graduated students, that would be great! Any and all experiences are welcomed!

You know I'm over here in the paradise of Savannah, but I'm leaving EC's MSN and going back to Chamberlain, MSN-FNP. I start at the end of October. I really love Chamberlain!

Believe it or not, I've only taken advantage of the sights in Savannah maybe twice since I've been working there. But I do love that Riverfront!

Will your EC MSN coursework transfer? I've taken two courses with Chamberlain back in late 2010. If I enroll with them, I do hope the BSN is enough to downplay the source of my stats course on this go 'round (Straighterline was not accepted; that's why I went back to EC).

I am a graduate student at Chamberlain and so far I really like it! I find it intellectually challenging and stimulating. My professors are very easy to get in touch with, and almost all of mine has PhDs. Also, my employer has an academic agreement allowing for reduced tuition as well. Don't let anyone say that going to Chamberlain will hurt your chances of finding a job. My employer is a world renowned and nationally ranked hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

I haven't been in about a month since beginning orientation at my old job. When this is period is done, I'll be returning for one day per week. Lunch sounds absolutely wonderful!

The organization that I am returning to is so huge, with a total of 6 hospitals under its umbrella, that I'm sure finding a job with them would not be a problem. Coincidentally, my position in Savannah is partnered with Chamberlain also. Fortunately, the BON here does not hold a position on advanced education one way or another (as long as it's accredited). Their main focus is on the initial education that leads to licensure. I was just hoping to retire from a community job in public health, even though I have yet to gain experience in it. Keeping my eyes open and my fingers crossed because I did find one open position yesterday...we'll see what happens because I really want to educate and manage people in an attempt to keep them out of the hospital.

Are your courses 8-weeks like their BSN courses were?

Yes they are and I love it! It's a bit challenging due to the professor standards but it's good to have an intellectually stimulating program
